oh yeah
i did complete a search and i see tht some folks get better mileage, some get worse. depending on drvng habits yada yada yada.......
however, roughly, i calculated tht i got 3.48 miles to the gallon during the autox.
tht is worse thn a NASCAR cup car!!!!!!!
its better than a sherman tank though.

Most fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate. It probably dropped 1/4 of a tank on the gauge, but have you filled up or run it out to see what the difference actually was? Also, the tanks are saddle tanks and the sender is only on one side. If your tank was really low, you might have sloshed all your fuel to the other side.
But yeah, you'll get crappy mileage at an autocross. less than 4mpg seems low, but single digits is certainly not unheard of...

The Cobb maps run really rich. You need to get a protune. A 05 STI I tuned used to get around 4 mpg at the track and now IIRC he gets closer to 8 mpg. While making more horsepower and torque. That just gives you an example on how much fuel is wasted for these so called "safer" A/F ratios.

it seems tht my subie runs so rich...........she owns her own island in Mediterranean off the coast of Spain!!!!!!!

thanks for the responses
proves tht the mileage is not out of the ordinary(for hard driving)

take off your intake... it will help, i just took mine off after flashing stg 2 and immediately started getting over 250 miles to the tank (which was my average) and i also am no stranger to the pedal on the right :)

That is your whole problem.
You really don't expect to get good mpg at an AX do you?

My 2007 WRX
91Oct crap Cali gas

stock: 280 miles per tank
stage 2 w/DP: 230-260 miles per tank

But I would expect much lower numbers if I was WOT most of the time ;)
