I am looking for a car to replace a 93 Honda Civic that just broke and may be dead. Minimum requirements for the replacement car are:

- in good working order and ready to drive (i.e. I don't need a project car)
- passes emissions and inspection
- not American
- manual transmission
- working AC
- good gas mileage
- no (serious) mods

I don't have a specific make/model in mind, but have thought about a Miata, another Civic, or an older BMW 318. I'd prefer something for less than $5k, but could go higher for a car that I actually want rather than one that is just a stopgap measure.

Let me know if you have anything for sale that fits the bill. Thanks!

would you consider my DSM Martin?

all stock except for springs and shocks.... cold AC, 5spd. Keep in mind it's 17 years old and has 148k, I average about 200-230 miles per tank. it does however need new ball joints, thats really it... if not, then.....ok

Ben

If the Civic is really dead I'll definitely consider it. How much do you want for it? Are you Ben Waxman (sp?). I don't recognize the handle :) I must be getting too old for message boards.

yes, it's Ben..... I'll ask 3k for it and I know some people will say.... Yeah right, but it really is a good little car. 6bolt 1g DSM's don't have a problem with crankwalk like the 7bolt's do. the only thing you may have a problem with it leg room. I know you are tall, but ya never know. will you be at the Shop Day? I'll be there with it.... I plan on getting rid of it when I get back from Las Vegas (April 27th), or whenever.

The car is really low (I hate S-techs) so I plan on getting a set of stock springs and putting them on. Shocks are BRAND new KYB AGX's set to 2,4 has a decent ride with the springs.

Remember that it's 17 years old and as all old cars go, are prone to repairs of some sort. Me and 2 mechanic(ASE Certified) friends of mine have looked over the car and there seems to be no major or minor problems.

I am still looking. I almost bought a Miata last weekend, but it got sold before I could get there to take a look at it. Must have been a good deal :)
