View Full Version : MPG ? on STG 1 and 2....
jconaty07 04-11-2007, 01:06 AM Yes i know that i didnt buy my wrx for good mileage. Im getting about 18-19 mpg around town now, with mild driving habits. Anyways, my question is for you guys who are running Stg1 and Stg2 on their 06-07 wrx's. Have you noticed a change in mileage in either Stg? I know its a dumb question but Im curious... Thanks guys
twizzstyle 04-11-2007, 03:54 PM My car is an 02, but I did a bit of experimenting. I'm on Stage 2. I thought I would switch to the economy mode for winter, cause I was on my snow tires anyways, lots of mountain driving... could save some money.
But on the economy mode, my mileage didn't get any better after like 3 tanks, so I went back to stage 2. I commute 40 miles a day round trip, much of that is heavy traffic (not stop and go, but certainly not cruising) and I usually average around 26 mpg. If I'm driving really hard, it'll go as low as 22, but if I'm good on it I've seen as high as 27mpg!!!
jconaty07 04-12-2007, 12:37 AM Dang:eek: , is it normal to see a significant increase like that... driving style considered of course.
skydes 04-12-2007, 11:47 PM nevermind.
06grayrex 04-13-2007, 12:24 AM At stage 1, I can get between 26-27 mpg if I stay out of the boost. If I have fun on the entrance ramps and with others on the highway I will get between 22-23mpg. I also drive 97% highway about 90miles round trip daily
Bbasso 04-13-2007, 01:38 AM I'm sure this has been covered a few times...
stock 19 mpg
StgII 33 mpg
in my 05 4EAT
RL-N-AH 04-13-2007, 04:18 PM i have a 07 wrx and at stage 1 i got 23mpg driving calm.at stage 2 i get 21 mpg because i get to happy with the new torque. now that i calm down alittle i get 23mpg with 1 or twice hard acceleration and that with 90% street. i now if had more highway miles then i would be looking at 27mpg.
p.s. synthic oil and the uncle scotty helps.

WRXTR 04-16-2007, 03:14 PM I got 21/22 stock... average 24 on Stg2. And I have a bit of a heavy right foot. 50/50 highway/city.
whitecel 04-17-2007, 03:01 AM I'm stage 1, but an 05 wrx. I've only had the map in for about a weeks worth of driving and I haven't seen any improvements.

I agree! My brother has 05MY WRX stage 2, and I have a tC, and we get just about the same milleage but his car makes something like 80 more WHP. Plus he has a heavier foot than I.
Clark_Kent 04-18-2007, 01:07 AM I am currently Stage II (06 STI) and I have consistently gotten about 23MPG.
RHayes 04-19-2007, 03:59 AM I have been afraid to calculate my actual milage since stage 2, but I am quite confident it has gone down.
pooster.online 04-19-2007, 11:26 PM you guys must not live near any hills... stock i get 17 mpg... 70% city 30% highway..

Aprice40 05-04-2007, 05:57 PM 02 Wrx Stg 2, i get about 20-22 mpg heavy on the gas when there isnt lines of stop and go traffic infront of me.
serdet 05-04-2007, 06:35 PM 05 sti stage 2 and 19mpg about 50 highway 50 stop and go traffic
06grayrex 05-05-2007, 12:15 AM On this last tank of gas I stayed out of the boost on the highway with the cruise control set at the speed limit . And taking off from a stop I would shift between 2000-2500rpms but not racing to those rpms and I got 337 miles on 12.4 gallons of gas which equals 27.1 mpg. Most to the driving was done with the defrost on which cycles the A/C because of the rain that we have received here in the mid west (STL). I have about 41250 mile on the clock on the original spark plugs. I only use Shell V-power gas 93 oct. At Cobb stage 1 with a perrin crank pulley, SPT intake w/ heatshield, all Amsoil fluids. I keep my tire psi on the stock tires around 42-45 psi. This is just my formula for great mpgs. :disco:
