Yes, as long as the hood hinges are attached to the same place as the OEM hood it should work. If the CF hood is substantially lighter (usually not unless it's dry carbon / prepreg) you may only want to run one shock.

why are these keys 40 bucks while usually the keys are 20-25?

Are the hood shocks made of something that won't rust? Warranty? Can you do a package deal with an 02/03 STi Hood scoop unpainted (ST-90821FE021NN)? Also, do you carry the mesh 02 foglight covers unpainted? If so, is the mesh metal? PM me please :)

Hey Josh, you'll want to twist them and push on them to get them to compress. I believe they lock them from the factory to prevent rupture during airshipping - it takes some force to get them to compress the first few times, but after that they work normally. :)

How hard is it to close the hood with the shocks, do you slam the hood or let it drop?

How hard is it to close the hood with the shocks, do you slam the hood or let it drop?

The resistance in the shocks is about 30% of maximum extension meaning that only on the upper half of the hood opening arc is there pressure. Once the hood gets close to closing there is no more pressure in the shocks and you can just drop the hood close (or with a little force). This design was done with the awareness that you shouldn't be pressing hard against your aluminum hood. :)

These hood shocks are so awesome. What a great convenience feature. Plus, it doesn't push the hod up till more than half way. This way, when you're closing it there isn't a ton of resistance, and when you're opening it the hood doesn't fly out of your hands.
