Ok, i spent all of sunday pulling my car apart to put this uppipe on. A couple hours into it and i finally got my stock STi uppipe out. After i got this thing out, i installed the turbo xs upipe... once i went to bolt the stock manifold to the txs uppipe i noticed that the flange was no where near close to where it was supposed to be. I used a screw driver to line up the bolt holes and bolted the pipe up after about 30 minutes of struggling.

Needless to say when i started it up i heard that clicky clicky noise thats common whenever you have a leak.

At this point im pissed  and i spent the rest of the night pulling the newly installed upipe out and putting in the old sti one since i had to be at work today.

Summary: The Txs cast iron uppipe is complete garbage, the flange does not get anywhere close to the exhaust manifold and should be avoided at all costs. Luckly for me the uppipe was free. Any upipe needs to have a flex section and unless the casting is perfect, a cast iron pipe woulnt work..... The things you do for 5hp

Do not waste your time.

was there something wrong with the your sti uppipe?

na, not at all. Its a really well-made piece.... the sti upipe has a smaller diameter and has slip-tubes in it that restrict the flow. even though its catless, it isnt the best choice. When you upgrade to an aftermarket thats the same diameter as the stock gasket then you gain at least 5+whp.

my goal was to have little mods add up:
upipe -5-8hp
crank pulley - 5-8hp
highly ported exhaust mani - 10-15hp
TGV deletes - 10hp
that adds up to (adding the lowest #'s) to 30hp:D

dude...dont rank on the product cuzz your install work is less than perfect...

i had the version 1 turboxs up pipe on my car and it didnt leak at all... use a new gasket and be thorough with the work you do and it should all go good.

i had the same problem lining up my up-pipe to header also, but my uppipe has been on for four years, its not the uppipe ,you have to tighten the bolts in a certain pattern or they wont line up

That is interesting. I have had one for four years. Bolted right up and never had any leaks whatsoever.

I like the bench racer style of "adding up horsepower"

whats this pattern? I followed the manual and vishnu instructions

and also, i put my stock sti uppipe back on the same way and it lined up perfect... so say what you want, the one i had is garbage :D
