I am planning on installing a 20g on my '06 in the near future, but won't be able to make it to a ProTunner for a couple days after (I'm in Dallas, tunner in Houston). Will I be OK with Cobb's 18g map until I get the tune? Please only answer if you have an educated response. I personally think it would be OK as long as I kept my foot out of it, but I want an answer from someone that has more experience with this stuff than I.
Thanks in advance! -Jason

If you have streettuner you can set the wastegate duty cycle to 0% and not worry about much. Otherwise, the cobb stage I, or 18G map's wastegate duty cycles should not affect you provided you keep off it strictly. The cobb fuel maps and timing maps are all pretty conservative and you should be sure to do an ECU reset before you drive to clear any dynamic advance. I'd recommend the economy map to open the wastegate but I believe it has a bit of additional timing advance under cruise conditions and light throttle and might be risky when the turbo flows a bit differently.
Just drive like a grandma and you'll be just fine.
