hey guys my car is a my99 rs and it has been acting funny ever since i had a blowout this weekend
well here it is whenever my car is cold and i start it the rpms jump to 1500 usually it just settles at around 800 to 1000 but now it just jumps to 1500 and the only way it comes down to norm is when i hit the gas can anyone help me with this problem i really need help

I kind of have the same problem. Does it really high for a little while when you come to a stop and then it rlaxes to the normal level. If so you might have an air leak behind the MAF somewhere. Check all your connections to make sure and check the air boxes, they have these little clips on them at the bottom, it is quite easy to not slot them in right. I checked my fittings and reset the ECU and the problem was fixed

Brian, I thought it was normal for the car to idle at about 1500 when you cold start it. It will stay there until the engine warms up or you start driving (which you simulated by stepping on the gas). This is how every Subaru I've driven behaves.
