View Full Version : TGV Delete Service CHEAP!

Granny's Garage
05-01-2007, 10:17 PM
Hey all,
I am now offering my services to you. I am deleting TGV's for a fraction of the price most other places will do it for. I will remove both sets of butterflies, remove both rods, motors, sensors, remove the aluminum plate and port the housing out all for $75 plus whatever shipping is to get it back to you. If you want to know about my work, i have pictures below or you can ask devildevil on NASIOC. My work is as good, if not better than other places but as you can see, my prices are more efficient. I clean them after i am done with the housings as well. I can have these powder coated basically any color you would like for a small fee as well. I have a couple extra WRX TGV sets lying around if you do not have down time. I can either send them out for a core fee of $150 that is %100 refundable once i have received a set that are in working order, or i can send them out as soon as i receive yours.

I accept Paypal: JPizzzle@hotmail.com
Personal Checks but they will have to be processed before any work is done.
Cashiers checks or Money orders.

I would suggest if something is sent in the mail, simply wrap it up inside the housing or something safe. Make sure you package these very well. They are aluminum and can break fairly easily with some mail carriers.

PM me, Email me at XGrannysGarageX@yahoo.com, or simply just post a reply!

Thanks everyone,
Granny's Garage

I'm a newb at this, but won't a tvg delete throw a cel?

Granny's Garage
05-03-2007, 06:01 PM
Once you do this modification, it would be a good idea to get a tune. You increase air flow which messes with you gas:air ratio. However, Cobb's accessports have been known to block the CEL. Other than that you can simply have your local tuner block that CEL if need be.

I can also remove the aluminum plate and butterflies but leave the bar in. This way all of your sensors and motors will be intact.

I do not use a welder. I simply tap each end of the TGV housing and tighten an alan head screw with locktite on the threads. This works flawlessly and is much easier.

Jon,

I have a large install coming up, and will be removing my TGVs. Do I need to paypal you $150 to have a deleted WRX set sent out before I send in my stockers, or $225?

Also, is it possible to have you send me a set with the rods still installed? I don't want to deal with the CEL. Maybe you could grind down the exposed portions of the rods to be thinner before you reinstall them (maybe for a $10 bonus?)

Thanks,

Evan

Revisions may need to be made but this looks good for now:

Here is the process that we would go through:
1) If you would like to do a core refund you send me the $75 for the services, $150 for the core charge, and $15 (This may change due to location of destination) is the flat rate charged for shipping to US residents in the lower 48. If you choose to use paypal, add 3% which ends up being a total of $247.20.
2) Once you receive the TGV's, you send me your TGV's and once i have received them in good condition, i will send you the $150 core charge back.
If you send a check of any sort, the TGV's will not be sent until it has cleared.

If you want to send me your TGV's, I request either paypal of $75 for the service, $15 (This may change due to location of destination) for the flat rate shipping to the lower 48 US states and 3% fee added one which turns out to be $92.70. Or a check is sent with the TGV's, i will wait until the check has cleared before any work is done.

what is the difference between STi TGV's and WRX? I have a set of STi TGV's in my garage and I want to get the deleted and put them on my WRX. Will this work?

Granny's Garage
07-13-2007, 06:31 PM
Sti and WRX TGV's are differnt and not interchangeable without modification. They also use different injector types.

I'm Slow
07-13-2007, 09:16 PM
So, let me ask a better question. I have some USDM stock STi TGV's , What would I need to do to use these on my USDM 05 WRX?

Granny's Garage
07-14-2007, 01:51 PM
I believe all you would need is top feed injectors and to drill new holes in the housings to match the holes on the motor and possibly intake manifold. Do not quote me on this. It would be much easier to sell those and just buy WRX housings and have them ported. I do not know of many people who would go your route, not discouraging you as it would work, simply more work than needed.

I tried to send you a private message requesting a TGV housing. But your PM box may be full or you're not accepting PMs. In that case, here is a copy of the PM I tried to send you. Hit me back when you get a chance.

Hi there Jon!

I think I'm ready to purchase a fully modified TGV delete housing from you. no motors, no rods, no sensors, no BS... with enginuity i can effectively remove all CELs related to that. Let me know if you still have some in stock. I'd like to pay the cost of the delete housing plus a core chage and hope to get the core charge back when I send you my stock TGV housing.

btw, you don't include TGV to head gaskets by any chance do you? if not, i guess i'll have to get them seperately.

let me know.

Gigabelova
12-07-2007, 03:32 PM
Does this service mean I will obtain better engine response at past 6,000rpm? My EJ205 revs up to 10,000 rpm at the moment, but I get only minimal power gains after 6,000 rpm. Feels like the turbo/engine is out of breath. I have made no throttle body/intake mods so far.

Current internal engine mods:
RS Sleeved
Arias 8.76:1 static compression ratio forged pistons
Eagle forged rods
Supertech nitrate coated valves
Supertech valve springs
Supertech titanium retainers

Jpizzzle
12-08-2007, 11:34 AM
10,000 RPMS???

Well, this is a basic must have for anyone with an 18g or bigger turbo as these butterflies inside of the TGV's will restrict air flow. In your case at 10k rpms i would have to say you want this modification.

Nice set up though.

When is a good time to get a TGV Delete? this is my current set up.

Helix TBE
STI Upipe
Injen Shortram
AP Stage 2

Upcoming

vf39 or vf34 or 16g
CSS FMIC
565cc injectors
Walboro Fuel Pump.

Could this just work with my stage current set up with a protune? or is should this be only used with a larger turbo and bigger supporting mods?

Jpizzzle
01-24-2008, 01:30 PM
It really is up to you, TGV deletes simply open up the air flow a bit. For larger turbos this passage constricts the air flow very much due to the mass amount being forced in. I believe smaller turbos will see a benefit just not as great as a larger turbo. Any time is a good time to do these especially if you have any thought it your mind about upgrading to a larger turbo.

Hope this helps

Question Will I have to do a tune after I do TGV Delete? and will they throw a CEL? Here is my build

Turbo XS Short Ram

Samco Aftamaf hose
Perrin Turbo Inlet Hose

Perrin Crank Pulley

scoobystas

you probably will have to get protuned, but the protune will optimize everything you have, especially that short ram. Add a better boost solenoid like the GM, Prodrive unit, or tactrix sells one now too. The protune, boost solenoid and TGVs should net you a good deal of power and drive ability.
