HPI and Hot Bodies Sponsored Fujitsubo Race Car Arrives on US soil for the first time.
HPI Racing / Hot Bodies USA based out of Foothill Ranch, Ca has taken delivery of the FUJITSUBO Subaru Impreza STi race car that competed in the Super Taikyu Endurance Race Series in Japan, winning the overall class title in 2005. This turbocharged 4WD racing wears HPI Racing and Hot Bodies sponsor logos, along with Fujitsubo livery and bright yellow and orange paint, making it one of the most recognizable cars in the Super Taikyu series.
The Fujitsubo Subaru will not be alone here in the US as it will join the HPI Racing Subaru at the HPI Racing USA headquarters. Look for appearances and events coming up in 2007 to show off the car.
In the mean time HPI has released this teaser video of delivery of this one of a kind racing Impreza:

I drive past hpi (near oakley) all the time...i'll have to look a little harder tomorrow and maybe i'll get a better glimpse. I also just found out i live in the same apartment complex as one of their employees...so maybe i can talk with him into getting me a closer look! :)
We will know more about the events the car will be running in soon. The HPI Super Taikyu car has been here for over a year and now we have it's stable mate joining it. I know there is an event planned here soon in So Cal that will be an opprotunity to see the cars (not racing though). More details to come.
As for the wing there will be a full breakdown for both cars in our upcoming issue. The car was apparently packed up during the rain in Japan and was quite dirty and in need of a bath upon it's arrival.
AruisDante 05-31-2007, 10:47 PM How did an MY06 car win a series in the 2005 season? that just seems odd :p
But other then that, sick looking car indeed.

enkei RC-T4!!
they're sick but it's all about the whole flow of the car with the rims, I don't think it'll look nice with stock bodykit IMO.
KEEP US UPDATED TmT
The engine in these cars looks stock but they're crazy fastt

Japan usually gets refreshed body cars before we do and a lot of times they will just update the looks if it's just cosmetic changes.
We will get as much information and detailed pictures as we possibly can without compromising their "secrets" to any competitors.
HPI doesn't sell to the public out of their offices as far as I know but I will have details about this event in So. Cal shortly.
Nico Flax 06-01-2007, 10:03 PM I have a Fujitsubo exhaust... my god I love that company! To bad it's on the other side of the US... :(

JiveMasterT 06-03-2007, 04:00 PM I really like the kit setup on that car. Anyone know what kit that is? Is it a widebody too?
spoolindc2 06-04-2007, 02:36 AM sooo sick!
MPREZYA 06-04-2007, 01:00 PM I really like the kit setup on that car. Anyone know what kit that is? Is it a widebody too?
I believe they are required to run stock body except for some additional minor aero. I will be going through the car and noting anything different.
Impreza01 06-04-2007, 02:23 PM Oh, do note what the suspension set-up is like. Brand, spring specs and etc. please =)
doylfish 06-04-2007, 05:07 PM we need that yellow color in the US as an option color from the factory. I wasn't a big fan of the 'blaze yellow' but I would definitely buy that color
g3ninfinite 06-05-2007, 01:34 AM I want that wing!
Vostok 7 06-05-2007, 12:00 PM Is that front lip available on the market or is it a custom one-off?

It's also very possible that the racing season for that series was in late 2005, as the MY06 models would have been out by then, 'spechually in japan.
BozSketchWRX 06-12-2007, 12:09 AM Is that a 2008 style hood and scoop? I saw that Hood on a 2007 STi somewhere else on Nasioc but no info. I want that Hood I checked Prova but theres no listing what Hood is that and where can I get my hands on one?

dub c 03-19-2008, 07:07 PM I know the wheels are the enkei rc-t4 in 18x8.5 but does anybody know what tire sizing they are using?
MPREZYA 04-09-2008, 10:24 PM There was a tire sizing on the tires but I can't recall exactly what it was (it wasn't listed like a typical tire since it's a custom race tire). I've gotta stop back by there soon and I will try and get exact sizes or estimated equivalents. Also they were both run at Willow Springs about 2 months ago and there should be video floating around soon.
