Just curious and wondering here...which would be easier and cost the least?

2008 Legacy GT Spec B > putting in the 3.0 liter engine

OR

2008 Legacy GT 3.0 Auto > putting in the 6-speed tranny

I would assume the tranny correct? Any issues with either matting to the engine and tranny and vise versa?

sorry if this sounds terse but what are your goals? You don't do engine and tranny swaps for the same reason. Or is this a trivia quiz?

6 speed by about 100x

the 05+ legacy wireing is veryvery ugly i would rate the 3.0 swap next to impossible

the 3.0 swap has only been done like what, by 2-3 people and they had unlimited resources pretty much? lol +1 on next to impossible for the 3.0 swap, unless u can go standalone maybe?

I was just wondering for what I'd like in my next car. I'd really like to have a boosted 6 cylinder and was curious as to options if I were to stick to a Subaru. If SOA would release an STI Legacy I would be happy with that. I still enjoy my 03' Cobb 2.5, but I'm also really tired of it as well. I'd like something with a more comfortable cabin, ride, quieter, etc. If there was an Legacy STI, I could just keep it stock for daily use and drive the WRX when I want to tear things up...
