this is an 05 rs wagon:

i put on a k&n cone with a kartboy maf adapter, with a silicone hose between the torque box and the maf. ever since, every once in a while when i go from a dead stop in first gear and mash the gas, the car will go for a split second, then electronically bog itself for a half second and then kick in and go again... i have 600 mostly highway km's on the new intake. i reset the ecu the first time with forgetting to connect maf harness but then re-reset with it connected and had no problems.

any ideas????

btw, there are no vacuum lines that were played with, only a snorkelectomy and removal of the airbox ontop of previously mentioned changes. the filter is used, so it may be improperly oiled, how do i check if its too oiled?

There's a thread somewhere here by "SCOOTERFOREVER" called "Cleaning and Reattaching the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve)" or something like that. It solved some problem that I was having, similar to yours. Maybe this will help...I might be way off:rolleyes: but I thought I throw in my suggestion.
Good luck:) .

i never had to disconnect anything except for the maf harness tho!

so i read somewhere that the bog is due to unequal air movement going by the maf sensor. i need to fix this somehow, w/o buying some cpu parts.

i guess i basically have to replace the maf sensor tube/mount assembly that i kept from stock. anyone know of a good short straight tube with a maf sensor mount??? would replacing the slanted maf tube with a straight one make a difference?

really need answers!! thanx!

I use to have this problem with my old bomz ram air intake that i got off ebay. never was able to fix it. and it sounds exactly like what is going on with you. The only fix i ever found was either

A. but the stock stuff back on (Major Suckage)

B. Buy a CAI (i opted for the Injen CAI on my 98 L)
This alternative though costly worked great, sounds better, sounds meaner, gave better gains, and no more bogging

Downside... the intake filter is now exposed so got to watch out for deep puddles

belive me man i tried alot. new MAF, new Filter, new tubing(to the intake manifiold and block) nothing worked but the injen worked great

hmmmmm sounds good, but i REALLY dont like the idea of an exposed filter. that was most of the reason why i got short ram. and im also running a wagon, so i cant always fit every filter in the fender. anyone know if a k&n cone can fit in there?

yes it will fit just fine. that is what i am using. belive methere is plenty of room where the air filter sits. really its not int he fender its behind the bumper
