So I'm driving along and doink, I hear and feel this part hit my left foot which was on the dead pedal. Anyone know what it is and if it will be easy to see where it goes so I can put it back??
It looks like a jumper for lack of a better word. All electrical functions seem to work without it, but I want to put it back. Thanks for any help in advance. I don't know if it makes any difference but I have a 9-2X.

It looks like the init connector you put on when you want to upload maps via accessport to your car.

Car runs fine and is totally stock so no accessport (unless the a stock car has one). Any brainstorms as to location/function.

Where did you find it. In the driver foot well? if so iwould check up under the dash board.
Are you the original owner? If not, it could be that the PO had an Accessport and forgot his jumper.

I am the original owner so nobody else has messed with it. It bounced off the top of my left foot while driving so it came from somewhere above the clutch or brake pedal unless it bounced it's way down.
I had a look up there with a flashlight and can't seem to find any obvious place where it came off from. All electrical functions work so I guess I'll wait until I have to have it into the dealer for service and let them charge me $50 to put it where it came from.

Ever see Charley and the chocolate factory?
You've found the Subaru "Golden Ticket" - you get to tour the FHI Japan factories!
Seriously - its more than likely a diagnostic loopback/jumper device that either the Dealer techs or the factory accidentally dropped and lost in your dash. Since there's no symptoms I'd take the same wait and watch approach as you. (Edit - wait, watch and not mention it to the dealer if I think they'd charge me $50, that is)
(and what flavor Doritos did you get? (top of first image):lol:)

I was wondering if anyone was going to see that. It actually said something like "Doritos or other super fattening empty calorie-laden snack". They were for a little partay last Saturday. Original for me and super fire hot for the friends.
