I've been reading a lot about MI can reduce IDC on an aggressively tuned stock turbo. I also know that if I want to upgrade from my stock turbo, I also need injectors and a fuel pump. On an 04 WRX, is it safe to upgrade the turbo and IC w/o upgrading the fuel, and instead installing a meth kit? I understand that a good tune would be involved (I am currently using an AP). I searched through the many threads here, and haven't found anything specific to this. If you have, spare me with the SEACH NOOB, and link me. Thanks.

obligatory- M.C. Search Noob!
that aside- you really need to up the fuel if going to a larger turbo. WI is for additional protection/power and is in no way intended to replace inj/pumps. You'd have to install a huge tank if you were going to run WI instead of upping your fuel.
It's best to follow directions when upping your turbo, if you can't afford to buy/install everything you need to have- then you can't afford to be running the setup.

you could use meth with stock injectors on a VF series turbos or equivalent. you'd need 5-7gph nozzle. With my UR785cc injectors & meth injection I only run the URs to ~75% which in a linear world would be the equivalents to STi 'pinks'.....you could do it.

I'm running an 06 Stage 3 with Alky. My IDC's dropped from 100% to 70% spraying 50/50, 22psi peak boost on a conservative map.
Stock 560cc injectors, stock FP.

Stock turbo too?
Do you already have a AI/WI system?
Honestly, it might be possible, but to do it correctly, it would cost more than just upgrading your fuel system. Spend ~$70 on a fuel pump and chop your stock injectors if you're on a budget.
Then run an AI/WI system.

I don't own one, I was just researching the benefits and "bang for your buck" that looks like AI/WI would give.
