Thanks for disappearing it's the best thing you've done.
Just in case you missed it Kyle was responsible for 2nd WORST group buy on the I-club. MRT NA exhaust...
Just wanted to warn everyone.
On a positive note both PK motorsports & Brett Middleton from MRT did an excelent job of completing the group buy.

JGard 08-16-2001, 01:47 PM Aaron, I hate to go against the problems you had...
but the one time I dealt with Kyle, it went very smoothly. I bought my solid front end links from him. The price was good, and I had the parts within a week.

actually I'm sure you did it just to spite me.... beooch
I'm sure they don't exist any more... and if the rear (haha) their head again... I'll play a little bbb wackit, and make sure they disapper for good.
it's been proven over and over..
some vendors are decent to deal with on a single sale, but as soon as they try thier hand at a group buy.. all hell breaks loose.
txjunglist 11-07-2001, 11:02 AM CTC is still in buisness and doing well. Kyle takes care of everyone like he has been friends with them all his life. Here is the deal with CTC and the MRT group buy. You have the guys at MRT to thank for the fubared buy.Kyle had 20+ orders for exaust systems and the person in charge of the group buy at MRT raised the price of all the systems after a agreement was made. MRT did this to you, not KYLE. I've known Kyle for a couple of years now (personally) and I've never heard of him screwing anyone. Think about it Group buy... Best deal possible to the end user. Kyle did all the research and legwork to get that deal done.I'm here to tell you that your flame should be directed at a different person.

froggert 11-07-2001, 11:50 AM txjunglist - that may or may not be true, but kyle still took the money from the group buy and disappeared. the participants were left to organize shipping and customs from mrt. at no time did he inform anyone of what was going on..
txjunglist 11-07-2001, 05:14 PM The price was upped by MRT on the exaust systems .Kyle deposited the money in MRT's account and then the price was raised. And BTW Kyle has not dissapeared nor did he dissapear he's been in buisness here in dallas if you wanted to find him you could have .. CTCMOTORSPORTS.COM it has the numbers. thats all If you think he wronged you call him and ask him what happened. I'm sure he is honorable enough to tell you what happened.
I LOVE MY SUBARU. MONEY WEEEELLLLLLL SPENT.:D
scoobybrande 12-27-2001, 07:21 PM Here is my experience with CTC Motorsport in Texas.
In December of 2000, I was living in Texas. I visited the CTC shop personally, and spoke with Kyle Thurber. He seemed cool, showed me around, talked about subees, etc. I gave him a $100 cash deposit for a set of ARP head studs for my brother's Galant. CTC didn't have the studs in stock, but was told they could be ordered and would be in easily within two weeks. Well, two weeks pass, and no dice. So I call, and I email, and I'm patient, but curious. Some months go by, I move out of Texas, but I still email Kyle, and he still assures me each time that they are backordered, but will be in shortly, and he will let me know. Many more months go by, and he stops answering me emails, and I don't have my $100 or my head studs. I report them to the BBB in October of 2001, but they must be just as crooked/inept, for I have heard nothing. This message condemns mostly Kyle Thurber, but also CTC. If someone else at CTC wishes to step forward and correct the situtation, that would be fine.
scoobybrande 01-28-2002, 12:35 PM Well, I wrote again to Kyle yesterday in hopes that we could resolve the situation. As you will be able to see when I paste his reply below, it doesn't sound too hopeful. He does have a partial point; the deposit was originally for a EJ20 motor, tranny, and various other bits, however, when I emailed him saying that I would come by with the deposit it was with the understanding that it was indeed refundable (unfortunately, I have no proof, but neither does he) So fine, I backed out of that, but then he continued to string me along for months (now well over a year) that I could use the deposit toward another purchase. If it was non-refundable and non-transferable, that should have been it right there, no promises of products on their way or backordered.
Hey Justin,
After reading your bash against me a few weeks ago about the "$100.00" owed
to you for head studs on the i-club it will be a cold day in hell that you
ever get anything from me...You seemed to forget to post that the "$100.00"
was a no refundable deposit on a WRX motor that you backed out on
buying...REMEMBER!!
Regards,
Kyle
scoobybrande 04-08-2002, 12:44 PM So, I learned today that the BBB wrote to CTC with my complaint, and CTC didn't have the fortitude to correct the situation. Apparently a blemish on your company name from the BBB by not replying to a complaint must not mean jack, because that is what CTC has now for three years. The ever-so-nice BBB woman said that I could file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, so file I did. All they had to do was give me the studs or my money, and this would have been over and I would have been happy, and I probably would have done business with them again.
ViNtaKooLa 04-27-2002, 12:01 AM Woah, good luck with that Justin. It just ticks me off to hear that kind of stuff going on. I hope everything works out for you. I've been to CTC and spoken to Kyle and he seemed pretty cool. I plan on visiting them in the future and hope they treat me fairly.
