GAUGES ARE IN STOCK AND YOU CAN STILL GET THE $449 PRICE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. WE'RE DOWN TO 10 BOOST GAUGES LEFT FOR 3 GAUGES COMBOS SO DON'T WAIT TO LONG
====================
I've had a bunch of PM's with guys wanting to be first in line for the MadDad(TM) Clarity Ultra Series 66mm gauges(yes...a 66mm face). We're only making one more pre-production change, refining the startup sequence a tad and then we are going to production so we should see these sometime in August, the later half. As with any GB we do you are not charged until we ship the product. Our website will securley gather your billing info but will not charge.

The GB will net you any 3 gauges and a free wireless remote for $449.95. Shipping will be calculated on checkout(it's not free but this stuff isn't all that heavy so it won't be much). We haven't set the retular price in stone but I can tell you the GB will save you at least $100+ . I will let the GB run through the end of August and maybe for a week or two after.

Other items such as Add-On control devices(turbo timer, aux. fan control) and the external warning lamps do have a charge and you can select them from the drop downs. The best install options is going to be an ATi pod or similiar. The 66mm faces fill out the ATi pod almost entirely...cool. You will need a dremel to open the 60mm mount holes a tinge. These gauges are designed for 60mm holes/mounting but every pod brand is slightly different and every gauge brand is slightly different by a 1mm or two so just be aware you'll need your $19 battery operated dremel to open the holes a tinge. This isn't just the case with these gauges, it's quite common with most.

Gentlement place your orders...(just use Add To Cart below)

Add to cart http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/skin1/images/go.gif (http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/product.php?productid=170&cat=36&page=1)

Feature Summary if you haven't already seen it in the announcement forum:

* 66mm gauge faces are larger than the competitions filling out a 3 gauge 60mm(they fit into a 60mm pod) pod very nicely. The extra 6mm size combined with the LOGO FREE clean face design Clarity gauges are famous for means easy at a glance reading like no others.
* Power on needle sweep very similiar to a Subaru Impreza WRX/STi with only the needle lit up on the initial single startup sweep, then the whole face lights up...cool.
* The latest generation of LED backlighting. Visibility is not washed away on sunny days unlike most "smoked" lens blackout gauges. Ultra's use the latest UltraBright(no I didn't make that name up:) ) LEDs that are 30% brighter easily cutting through the mild face tint on a sunny days.
* Power off the gauge faces leave a soft light grey silhouette very similiar to a stock WRX/STi cluster. This is different from a full smoked lens blackout gauge. These look more similar to how the STi cluster looks rather than like all of the existing "black out" style gauges on the market.
* Amber/Red backlight matching a Subaru Impreza WRX/STi and many other cars such as Mitsubishi EVO.
* User adjustable warning lamp. (lamp lights and needle flashes)
* Audible warning - can be turned on/off.
* External Warning Lamp Port - each gauge will interface with large external warning lamps(shift light type available in multiple colors). Two foot cable will allow lots of mount location possibilities. They won't have to be married to being right on top of the gauge.
* External Device Control Port - allows adding functions to the gauge, using the gauge face as a device control interface:
* Turbo Timer - intefaces with Boost gauge Control Port. Adds turbo timer function. Set run time using gauge face/needle. Requires use of wireless remote(included in all 3 gauge bundles).
* Aux. Radiator Fan Contorl - interfaces with water temp gauge and activates on water temp warning setting. Requires use of wireless remote(included in all 3 gauge bundles)
* Intercooler Water Spray Control - TBA
* 50 second datalog record/playback(playback on gauge face)
* Pressure gauges include calibration set function to "0" the psi level for given elevations ensuring the best accuracy. You can truly recalibrate Ultra series pressure gauges if the needle is not perfect on 0 psi.
* Peak value record and recall, reset.
* Aluminum housing to dissipate heat.
* The higheset quality sending unit available. All sending units accurate to within 1% max
* Oil Pressure sending units are super small allowing for direct fit to any galley plug tapped for 1/8" NPT....and we have those stocked.
* Highest quality wire harnesses with built in aluminum shielding.
* Daisy Chainable wiring for ease of intallation.
* 30 Day complete money back gaurantee including freight. There will be no dissappointments.
* Best off all - NO CONTROL BOXES to clutter your dash and NO BUTTONS on the gauge face cluttering the clean look. All functions are controlled by a multi-function wireless IR remote included in all 3 gauge bundles.

If you want answers to some common question check out the announcement forums here and on iwsti. I'm on vacation in about 5 minutes for the week.

There are lots of great gauges out there to choose. Ultra series Clarity gauges are the flagship of the brand and we've made sure that they trump every brand in combined quality, functionality, and style. The fact they are reasonably priced is simply a bonus.

The only freebie will be the wireless remote. Once we crunched the math there wasn't any more room for extra feebie's or free freight. Individual gauges prices are going to range from $145 to $249. The pre-order is going to save folks anywhere between $139 to $223(in the case of boost, egt, oil pressure) over the regular individual gauge prices.

Some stuff has changed. We've since updated the startup sequence to better match a STi's with the needle point lit up doing the sweep then the rest of the gauge face lighting up, we sped up the speed of the sweep as well. We also had a different needle pointer sourced to better match the factory cluster. Changes are all done and we green lighted production. EGT for shipment to use is Aug. 30th. Here is a sample of the opening needle sweep the way it will be for production gauges. I'll post some more pics shorty, still catching up on PMs and emails from over a week ago(when we were closed for vacation)

i can tell you in person the fit of the 66mm together in a 3 gauge clock pod is nice.....these gauges looked awsome in pre-production form and rich always improves on them a TON from pre-production.....i had pre-production V2 Ti's before they were available and i tested them and loved them and was happy but Rich wasn't......he went the extra mile and made them better and the differences in colors was subtle but a night and day difference in color matching the gauges if you spent your time looking at stock vs pre-production vs production

these are meant to obviously be comparable and better than defi's and match the sti cluster even better, key words being "MATCH the STI cluster".....so amber would be the only option at this point.....although through rich's sources maybe he could do other backlighting color but the main focus is on matching the sti

Rich sent an email personally after I ordered my set to fill me on on the ETA of the gauges...I suspect he did the same to everyone else who pre-ordered.

They are just awaiting the final custom packaging...and some sets will be rushed so that people can have them for reviewing purposes faster.

ETA: 2-3 weeks.

Tried posting here last night but kept on timing out. Deal is the gauges will be done sometime next week. We're only planning on sending over 2-3 full sets for show and tell and some install documenting. Why only 2-3 sets? Because our packaging is not done yet, and I'm not going to send the full order in white boxes. I know the packaging means nothing to you guys but we've paid to have it designed and printed so we definately want to ship the order in our MadDad packaging. The packaging design has been lagging behind and it will set the shipment back till the end of the month.

I had a couple guys ask what the the Add-On devices look like and what do the exterenal warning lamps look like. The pic below is pre-production. The only thing that will change for production is the warning lamp. They body will be black rather than silver, and the wire that attaches to the gauge for the warning lamp will be 2+ feet long. Pre-Production was more like 2 inches. Having the longer connection wire means you'll be able to mount your external warning lamp considerably further away from the gauge itself. You'll need the longer length if you want to run a warning lamp from the apillar or clock pod position to close to the center of your dash in your line of sight...a 2 inch cable won't cut it, so we made a change to have those be much longer. You notice how the turbo timer has a connector that plugs right into the back of the gauge. The body of the turbo timer is flat and you can can mount it right to your firewall. We're going to have all this documented and it's why we're going to overnight a couple of sets so we can get that process done asap. It should help eliminate a lot of the install related questions.

This is a pic with "production" guauges....NO they are not instock/shipping yet. More on that in a minute, but to show these are real and will be here "real soon now" I thought I should shoot out a production photo and also show how they look in the 60mm APilliars. You do need to file the apillar 60mm mounts a bit but it works well in the end. Thanks to Chris for the good shot.

http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ultra_apillar.jpg

OK, so how are there production shots and they are not in stock. I've posted here previously on the delays due to packaging and that still holds true. We've been ping ponging back and forth as to whether we should just ship everything in white boxes with no manauls and just be done with it, and that was my stance early last week. Then I was told if we got the deisgn work to our manufacturer that they could rush the print job and have things done in one week so we switched gears again. As of last night the local print shop at our manufacturer end had an issue with the design file and it had to be send to them again today so we're still looking at a good 10-14 days from now for delivery, the soap opera continues. Let me say this. I'm more anxious than anyone to get these things to our door. With two years of time and thousands invested we'd love to be able to charge your CC's and ship them to you, so believe me we feel the pain as much as you with the delay...maybe more. A few sets were shipped in plain boxes with no manuals. These were guages that went to a couple of customers that informed us months ago of their install and tune dates and requirements to meet those dates so we made arrangements for those couple of sets to be shipped with our own production sets for local testing. My car and another we do some product field testing with are the only ones that were shipped(along with the few sets mentioned previous). These are production gauges so if there were any last minute gotachas, nothing would change, but I would want to know about those things ahead of time before shipping to everyone. The good news is the feedback I have so far is fantastic with excitement in the voices as the guys tell me how well matched the gauges are to the oem look and color match as well as the great functionality. So hopefully everyone will have the same opinion and feel it was worth the wait, which is almost over. For me personally this has been a 2 year project so I can't wait to be done with it so I can move on and point my efforts on the next project. I'll keep you guys(and maybe gals) posted as we get closer to getting the rest of the gauges in, and get some more photos. I know Chris will have a bunch more soon. I'll also have a one-off of our revised 60mm carbon fiber pod shown earlier in this thread. Lets keep our fingers crossed on that one.

Guys(and maybe gals),

Got word late yesterday that everything is back from the printer and that everything is being packed and will ship to us in 2-3 days(end of this week anyway). We're shipping them in via Air Freight so it should only take 2 days to get to us. So gauges should be shipping to you folks sometime mid to end of next week.

The GB pricing will run through the end of the month and we've got a massive order of Boost, EGT, Oil Press, and Oil Temp coming in. Fuel Pressure, Water Temp and A/F will be following up in about 45 days or so. There is some new news on the A/F front. Initially this was going to be a narrow band but we've had quite a few PMs with guys asking for a basic wideband A/F that will match the rest of their gauges so we're putting together a unit based on a Bosch 3737 Wideband probe. The same probe used by the Innovate LM-1. We will sell the gauge stand alone without a probe for $119.95 or with a probe for $199.95. The only chance of this product being delayed(beyond the 45 days) is if we think we can incorporate serial data output without having to go through a 6 month production cycle. Getting the basic wideband gauge out is a no brainer. It will look like the rest of the gauges with a numeric face that displays the A/F and you'll be able to set your warning points for "rich" or "lean". I had a number of you ask for this because you just wanted a wideband A/F gauge that "looked" consistant with your other gauges even if it wasn't always plugged into the exhaust stream(which generally they are not), so that's what we will be delivering.

stimulus - That's a 60mm lotek and we will have those instock next week. Off hand they run about $59

mike0cc - Once we get these Amber 60mm series out the door a regular WRX look version is immediately going to follow with a clear lens, white lettering(no illumination), and a soft green illumination at night. It won't take nearly as long as the these took to release since much of the work has been done, but it will still be in the neighborhood of 2-3 months though I expect to "show" a pre-production possibly as soon as 3-4 weeks.

Many folks will be receiving their gauges this week. As a heads up, the daisy-chain cables were miss shipped and not packed in with the gauge shipment. The daisy-chain cable is the cable you can use have one common power, ground, ect. for when installing your gauges in a pod rather than running 3 separate cables. We'll have the cables in later this week and will ship a cable out to everyone that has already been shipped.

Serveral folks are wondering "where do I get an ON wire that does not loose connection when the vehicle is started" as reference in the Ultra manual. You can get that from the ignition fuse or any other spot that references the "IGN"ition. I'm not an install wizard so what I outline is for general reference. It's how I have my gauges installed but an installer I'm sure would be using better methods. Tapping the fusebox is definately not something real installers due so I offer this up fyi but recommend you enroll a friend who is a good electronic installer or get your gauges professionally installed to ensure long term reliability

Here is my picture story(Kudos to Draco-REX for his idea on using the wire terminal. This works well with the thin gauge wire from the wire harness)

My first step was to snake some wire from the clock pod down through the dash. I took 4 strands of 16 gauge wire(you might have 5, one extra for Ground, but I already had a ground wire run). Wrapping some tape at the start of the wire and pushing them through together is a time saver. Having an electricians snake can come in handy as well, although it was quite easy without it since the wire was quite stiff.
http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ult_install_1.jpg
I used masking tape and labeled each end for what I would be using it for and for the matching colored wire it would ultimately be supporting.
http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ult_install_2.jpg
Labing the ends that would be right under the clock pod.
http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ult_install_3.jpg
Crimped some connectors on the ends and attached to a 6 pot terminal strip from Home Depot(about $6)
http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ult_install_5.jpg
Wires from the daisy-chain cable attached to the oppside sides of the terminal. You might be running multiple cables. One from each gauge. It's OK to combine more than one. If you bought 3 gauges a single daisy-chain cable would have also been provided so you can have one wire that supports all 3 gauges in the pod. The yellow wire(top right of terminal, black gauge wire opposite it) on the terminal is going straight to the battery negative terminal to ensure we have a very good ground. Lots of issues are due to poor grounding. If yoru unsure just run your wire to the battery(-) terminal. Applied a velcro strip to secure it but be able to remove it later if need be
http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ult_install_4.jpg
All wires except for grounding were run to the fusebox. Note: my car is a 2002 WRX so your fuses are most likey different from this layout. Look to the back side of your coin/ash try for a legand on which fuse is which, but look for the ones I note here. Again, there are probably some better ways to pull appropriate power for each wire, but in a pinch this will work

Have u sent these out? I havnt recieved mine yet and was planning to install the gauges this weekend.

All orders have been shipped at this point less maybe 2 that I'm waiting to get some info back form folks. So if you haven't received a voice mail you can assume you order has shipped. PDF invoices with track #'s are sent once orders are out. If anyone didn't get one you should PM me with your invoice #. A lot times people put in email addresses that don't work or require "approval" for the email to get through so folks should always make sure they use an email address that will be able to accept an incoming from daddy@daddysscp.com

rich can we get some more info on the guages. like the Air/Fuel guage (how it hooks up and all that jazz). also does the oil pressure guage come with the galley plug or does it replace the galley plug i am confused on how this installs. thanks in advance.

The oil pressure sending unit is quite small and will easly fit in the galley plug location that is common without any clearance issues. The sender is a 1/8" NPT thread so a galley plug threaded for 1/8" NPT is needed. We INLCLUDE that galley plug with the oil pressure gauge. There have been a few that shipped without that plug just due to stock. It's a "bonus" items that we've been throwing in on all these gauges.

The AF gauge is not done yet because development is still going on. We've been toying with 2 different approaches. 1) is to base the gauge on the popular Bosch wideband probe that is available in the $80 range 2) we are working on a test gauge that uses a standard probe that is amplified to give better resolution, in the 0-5v range rather than the 0-1v range. My guess is that most folks that run the gauge and probe will most likey put the probe it into the head of their downpipe where most have the extra bung and where you'll get more accurate results than the oem factory probe location. This is a spot where your probe will burn out quicker, which is why some folks only tune the car with their probe in the spot then remove it. My goal is to produce an AF gauge that gives a more accurate range than using a standard narrow band gauge with the existing factory probe(it the factory location), but also one where the cost of ownership long term is lower where you won't mind leaving the probe in all the time. If your probe burns out, you'll be able to replace it for $25 vs. $80. I'm hoping to have a test gauge in the next week or so.

Just finished installing the boost ,oil temp and pressure on my 07 Sti and they look awsome. I installed them into a Zerosport gauge pod and was able to keep the clock and air bag indicator. Not bad to install but if you are not handy leave it to the pros. I'll try to take some pics and find a way to link a video of them . Thanks Rich for a sweet set of gauges. I am just waiting for the Water temp gauge to put up my a-pillar gauge pod with the ETG and Innovate wide band. LMK as soon as it's done, Eddie:D

Another customer installed his boost in his AC vent.

http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ultra_ac.jpg

Semi-installed(obviously not done, with the wire hanging out of the pod) in my WRX. A hold over until the White/Green are released in February...hint hint.

http://www.daddysscp.com/forumpics/ultra_production.jpg

As a note, we've got maybe 5 boost guages left and then we'll be out till approx. end of January so anyone that is interested in the current $449.95 bundle might want to jump on it now. You'll save about $100 on the standard discounted 3 gauge price for a boost, egt, and oil press once the current pre-order pricing goes away(when we run out of the current boost gauges)

Bump for a good deal, and a question.

Is there a location to pick up oil pressure without using a sandwitch adapter?
Pardon, I have not searched.

The stock adapter that comes in the kit is the oil galley plug you use that so you dont need a sandwich adapter. Hope that helps.

Just want to make clear that the resons I went with the sandwich adaptor is because i was also using the Maddad oil temp gauge in addition to the oil pressure gauge. The sandwich made the install of both much easier. They were able to be in the same location and in the future I can use the two additional holes for an oil cooler kit. If you are just doing the oil pressure , the senor fits right in the plug on top of the engine block right next to the turbo outlet and PVC valve. It is small enough to fit in there without having to cut or move anything. Rich gives you both the adapter plug and pressure sensor to fit right in there.
And Rich ,just when you get the chance , please get back to me about the Exaust pm I sent you . thanks , ER

Thanks for the replies.
I will eventually have to get a sandwich adapter, but good to know I won't need it on day one.

Rich,
I got around to reading this post and have a air fuel sender question.
I have a data aquisition system running in my car. It has 0-10VDC inputs. Do you see any problem connecting to the stock sensor while it is still connected to the ECU? Depending on the resistance of the DAQ, I thought it may cause the car to read the A/F screwy.
That said, I would prefer to install a stand alone sender, and need a source.
If you can sell me an A/F sender for 0-5VDC, let me know.
Are there temperature senders that are 0-5 volt, or are they all RTD or thermocouples?

After being out of stock on boost gauges for the past 5 weeks we finally have everything back in stock. We also received the water temp and volt meter in the Ultra series. So in stock ready to ship is : Boost, EGT, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Water Temp, and Volt. We are going to be updating pricing on these for 3 gauge bundles. Depending on the 3 gauge combo you will actually be able to get into a 3 gauge setup for as low as $363 if you choose the lower cost gauges e.g. Boost, Oil Temp, Volt or Boost, Oil Temp, Water Temp. Basically any combination of Boost, Water Temp, Oil Temp and Volt will end up $363 and some pennies..assuming a boost gauge is one of the 3. If you are getting Boost, EGT, Oil Pressure those are the 3 most expensive gauges and those will run you $521. We've been at the pre-order $449.95 pricing on that popular combo for quite some time now. Even at $521 these gauge have no equal in the market. If your looking for basic gauges you can go elsewhere for less. If you want every bell and whistle in the book and then some, this is it. Go back to the first thread for the laundry list - the list is quite insane.

A couple of questions about the turbo timer (I just received mine yesterday) that I wasn't able to find elsewhere

1 - The instructions show 4 wires leaving the module, and there are 4 wires, however one of the colors is mislabelled on the instructions. It shows the coffee color going to the car anti-theft device (what, exactly, would this be btw?), the red going to B+, yellow going to ACC, and another yellow going to ON. Obviously one of those two "yellows" needs to be orange, but I don't know which one.

2 - Is there any kind of security system to shut off the car prematurely if, say, the e-brake is released? Maybe this is what that coffee colored wire is for, I'm not sure.

Thanks

The Ti series are black face(smoke lens) and Amber/Red lighting. They are 52mm. Ultra series is currently 60mm however, the 52mm version of the Ultra will be at our door by end of the month..they are a couple weeks late but will be here shortly.
