I got a RS recently and it sounds pretty loud after i start it up in the morning. Is this normal or just because the cold weather in ottawa?

I remember this winter also one time I started my RS and my engine was loud... It's a famous sound for boxer engines. It sounded like I was runing on 3 cylinders or something like that...

I've switched to synthetic and I never heard that sound again...
