due to crazy increas on fuel prices, can anyone give me some input on how to improve fuel efficiency as well as increase performance. thanks

Simple, don`t drive as much. But when you do drive, put your foot to the ground!!!!

If you want to be miser with gas, shift at 2.5-3k. If you want performance, shift it at redline!

The RS is kind of a pig but still lots of fun. That's why I kept my 92 Mazda 323. It's very cheap on gas.

On average, I get around 450km (if I'm hard on it) to around 550km (if I don't push it).

On my 99RS, when I push it, I find it faster to shift before 5500rpms. The 99RS runs pretty lean past 5500 mark.
