I get my alignments done at Advance Automotive. They're in Richmond (around No. 6 Rd and New Westimister Hwy) and do alot of alignments for autocross guys. He's happy to do alignments suited for perfomance if you don't want the factory specs. The guy to talk to there is Johnny.
I forget his prices though. He's got a cool '3D' lazer alignment machine, one of the only ones in the Vancouver area I think.

go to comptech at 188 w 5th

they know what they are doing and they race for real (not randomly/occasionally)

they also know soobs cuz they were the only people I trusted besides specialty to actually pay to work on the car

and they have the real laser alignment machine

Yea apparently Comptech (I hope that's the one I'm thinking of) is the only good shop in town to do alignments and stuff. Cause a friend of mine when he had his Civic SLAMMED, the shop he HAD to take his car to do alignment was Comptech. Something about them having the only and right equipment to do the job.

And hey, if Pat takes his car there...must tell ya something~

Does Comptech also adjust the camber for our car? Can I use the stock camber or I need to get an aftermarket camber plate?

i will pick Advance Automotive myself...especially u have a lowered ride height...they are more experience to handle that...they can do those w/ huge body kit...

Thanks guys
Do you have to make an appointment for Advance or do you just drop by?

Forget what I asked. I've done a search on the camber. Does anyone in Vancouver adjust the front camber? If so, would you tell us more? Thanks

CM, you have to make an appointment at Advance. I'm sure Comptech knows what they're doing but I'm also sure that Advance has a better alignment machine. Get the alignment specs you want and take them in with you. I think the Subaru U.K. club suggests max equal camber at front, 1mm toe in at front and back. Don't quote me on this, see if you can find somebody with the exact figures.

(Terse message due to unfounded claims in this thread)

FYI Someone might have told you that Advance has a better alignment machine but they are functional equivalents I beleive. Comptech has the crazy 3d laser things with wheel mounts and all that jack.

Also - comptech will adjust the Imp camber and everything else to exactly what you want, including rear castor/toe/camber which most places wont. And you know on the Imp it takes 2-3 people because the lasers move when you touch a wheel because it is AWD. Since they've lined up many imps/c4s they know that already.

Also - just FYI Mike and Dave (the guys who actually WORK on the cars at comptech) won the enduro race last weekend overall in their Civic.

Finally I have no idea why anyone says that Advance "has more experience" lowering and stuff like that. Where'd you get that ?

Finally, they are relaxed about stuff but they know what they are doing.

Take it all for what its worth. This is my $0.02. And no I am not sponsored or anything by them, but I trust them ONLY for reasons i am not going to get into here.

-Pat

well...choice of Advance or Comptech is really up to u guys...personally i was just telling what i have heard...it was from my friends or from shops that i have deal w/...Advance's where they bring for alignment after lowered or accident...and those are ppl in RMD...MAYBE Advance is only good for closer in travelling? haha...u know ppl are lazy these days...the gas is so expensive too...:P

so i guess for anyone who knows Comptech well for sure it's a better choice...where u go is really based on YOUR own choice...:P

Hmm, that was me saying Advance had a better alignment machine. I haven't been to Comptech since last summer so I guess I may have been making a false claim. I didn't think Comptech did enough alignments to justify buying a $50,000 alignment machine but maybe they do.
Anyways, I stand corrected if they do have one, I was going on information from the dealer who sells those machines. Last fall (or summer?) when Advance got their machine the dealer rep told me Advance had the only one in the Vancouver area and I had no reason to drive to every alignment and auto shop to see if he was lying.
I guess the main point is to figure out what settings you want. Not sure where to get the best info on that, I just went with the Subaru U.K. Club recomendations. Maybe Comptech races Imprezas and has played around with setting them up too, last I checked they ran mainly FWD Hondas though. Again, that may be different now.

yeah...it's good that competition leads to improvement instead of bad quality of work due to lower price...
it should be w/ the same price but higher quality...then we gain the benefits...hehe
