Hello, I've just picked up an oil pan for MY00 RS to modify for a oil return from my turbo. I want to do this myself.. but I'm not sure how high or where I should weld the pipe to it. Any inputs would be great. Thanks. :)

I do not know your experiance in welding, but I do say this.
Make sure you do it right (the weld that is) because I do not think it would very good if that snapped off. ;) Can we say, buh bye, turbo and engine?

Honestly, it costs like $40 at most to have someone weld it.
Its just one of those things ya' know
then again if you have your own welder and are experienced, why not...
Try about 3/4" to an inch from the top, passenger side of course, this depends on the size fitting, make sure there is enough space to get the line end on there, and turn it a bit.
Jack up your car about a foot and a half and throw some decent sized jack stands under there. Look underneather on the passenger side and eyeball where you're going to have to weld the fitting. If you're using an Aeroquip product be aware it will stick out approximately an inch off the face of the oil pan. There's also a header and a crossmember under there that you need to avoid.

you could also get a pre-tapped oil pan from Tom at LudeSpeed. makes it even easier. :)

I bought a pan from Tom at Ludespeed, makes everything easy. He even added in a bung for an oil temperature gauge for a few bucks more.
