At P&L we've always realized that the Subaru lineup of mass air flow based vehicles are very sensative to leaks in the induction systems.

What our maintenance programs have taught us is that 7 times out of 10 the compressor bypass valve (BOV) is the biggest source of failure, followed closely by inlet hose failures.

We always knew that Tial's products had been legendary in terms of reliability, but never had a way of packaging their BOV design in such a way that every Impreza owner could leverage them. That has changed with the release of our new BOV kit for the 2002-2007 Impreza lineup.

We start off with a custom designed and waterjet cut flange. That is precision tig-welded onto a v-band flange that the Tial high performance BOV is bolted onto. Then the entire assembly is machined to make sure the flange surface is flat and true.

*Update*

We are now offering our BOV Kits with a REUSABLE O-ring gasket built in to the flange! Instead of paying for a new gasket each time you want to take the intercooler or BOV off, you can reuse this one which is pressed into the flange. It also provides better protection against boost leaks as pressure is applied evenly around the hole to ensure a proper seal!

Our kit has been designed and tested around several of the common aftermarket intercoolers, as well as the standard OEM units.

Our kits will be competative and retail in the same area as other high quality atmospheric units such as HKS's SSQV.

All kits will include our custom flange assembly with built in o-ring gasket, v-band flange, the Tial unit, and a machined plug for your factory return line. You supply the elbow grease, and about 3 minutes later, you're done.

Contact us with any questions you may have.

what about the over rich conditions from bov? is the tial recirc or 100% atmosphere? will running this bov pose an overly rich situation?

All of the above!

For those running larger turbos and making more than 20-22psi, the stock recirculating valve will not cut it. If you want a replacement that will hold TONS of boost (we've never seen one leak), fit on your TMIC, and sound awesome.. this is for you. It's a trade off that we fully endorse.

Ok, you didn't really answer the question. When running full atmospheric how are you dealing with the over rich condition and the driveability issues?

You still will suffer from it, but to a much lesser degree then other units. That more due to the spring tension used which is more progressive on the release (read: not a load whoosh). That, and proper modification of certain tables (I.E. FI boost trim) during tuning go a LONG way to making it right. But it physically can never be perfect unless the valve were used in a blow through setup with the valve setup behind the MAF. But that's a completely different application we make then the scope of this post.

HTH!

The tial bov are $250 and come with your choice of SS or Alu. flanges.
We charge $85 for fab time to weld on your flange.

Thanks
