this might be the wrong section to ask this question, but...
my 5th gear slightly grinds at high speeds, and yes the clutch is fully engaged.
this just started happening recently, im planning on taking it to the dealer, but its kind of difficult to re-create... it isnt very consistent, yet... 45-50% of the time.
what could be some of the causes? it happens between 85-100mph. and i dont power shift either... thanks.

kuksool: you've got issues, I think. Why don't you just sell your car, cause you'd probably be happier.

same problem, except my clutch is slipping and will be replaced at the same time. i'm having the dealer install the sti mounts and lightened flywheel at the same time though, so labor charges for that will be minimal.

so did you have to pay for the sti mounts? and are they going to cover it under warranty?
which dealer did you take it to, and did you have to prove to them that it does not work/ how did you do it thanks, cause this is my first time...

i had the same problem.. it was doing it anything above 4k RPM going from 4th to 5th.. i took it to the dealership last week, and they are replacing the gears.. i will be picking up the car... SOON i hope.. i'm driving a PIECE of **** rental that they provided.. damn i didn't know the new Dodge Stratus was such crap..

but dont worry, waranty should cover it..

How many days has it been there now? Did they say how many days it was going to take to get it fixed? Just trying to get an idea of how long it's going to take.

As for rentals, I want a AWD or 4WD or I'm walking...but they did say they would give me something nice!!! Oh yeah and NO fords....;)
