hey guys, I just put in some HID conversion kit into my 2007 wrx wagon.

Now i think i might've done it wrong... the cut off pattern is so strange... it's like the passenger side is higher than the driver's side... is this normal?

When i was putting the headlight units back into the body... the passenger side gave me some problem... the screws on top didn't quite align with the holes... normally it sohuld align perfectly. It was off by about 5mm. I just basically push the headlight up a little more and screw it in.

If the leveler can fix this, where is the leveling screw?

I did a quick search and nothing popped up to me that suggest the correct beam pattern...

When it's darker here, I'll do another photo in the dark.

there is a little 8mm screw on the back of the headlight you need to turn to move the light down.

also see some glare on the top of the beam. thats one of the reasons i don't like hids in these stock housings (i have them too, but am retrofitting to something else)

As for this 8mm screw thing... I looked, can't figure out which it is. Any photos or more specific explanations?

Oh ya there's also this halogen colored pattern on the wall... right smack in the middle of each projections. Any idea what's causing that?

yes thats the screw to adjust height.

Whats causing that is rebased HID bulbs in a mediocare h7 projector. Just part of the installing HID conversion kits....

Yup probably would have gotten better results with OEM-grade D2S bulbs with centering adapters. Still wouldn't be as good as true HID projectors but better than an aftermarket kit, and the best you can do without the full retrofit.

Another question for you gurus.....

I am having this patter on the roads... is this normal or do i have to do something to fix this? I had already forgotten how far my halogens reach but I feel like the reach on these HIDs are not sufficient... I want to level them up higher and make them equal?

yes thats perfectly normal, you can raise both your lights up a tad if you want.

You definately need to raise them a bit.

The driver side should be lower, so you dont blind oncoming traffic.

+1. It looks like most cars have the driver side light aimed a tad downwards. My bugeye headlights are completely stock with new halogens (GE Nighthawk 9007) in it and that's pretty much the same beam pattern I get. Also the same pattern I see on my friend's 2005 CRV (halogen) and my other friend's 2007 Acura TL (HIDs).
