so... i have a 2004 WRX, and i do not have enough money to do a retrofit with TSX housings or ballasts, BUT..... i am curious as to which companys sell good HID kits that work on e-bay. i had one on my old 2001 RS and it worked great, but my friend bought it for me. now its my turn
so, bottom line, who had bought HID kits on e-bay, who from, any problems, and how do you like em cause i am in the market for a simple HID kit.

No. There is no such thing as "works good" on ebay. There is no HiD kit that works good period. ****ty QC, poor optics, etc etc.
Not to mention, that Generation WRX does nto respond too well to HiD kits. It's horrible.

You need to retrofit. if you don’t have the money, you should save. Especially since you have an 05 which uses reflector headlights.
Now, if you just want to blind everybody :D buy a kit, there are a few in the group buy section for 130 bucks or so. Damn cheap. No idea about the quality though.

If you want to blind everybody, which is all you'd get with a HiD Kit, I have a cheaper option. Drive around with the high beams all the time.

ohh, good point. bottom line is dont do it. you are going to blind people. your headlights are not designed for HIDs. if ou want them. talk to lightworkz they will hook you up.

would this be the same for 02-3 non-hid jdm headlights? Basically could one purchase the non hid jdm bugeye lights and buy a kit since they are projectors?

No you don't want to do that. As discussed a billion times here the JDM projectors have a beam pattern that is for RHD and rises to the left therefore shining into oncoming traffic. They really should not be used here even in their halogen form, and should definitely not be modified with HIDs.
