Hello guys!
I would need your help!
I have got a EJ22T engine and had to see that it was built with shorter rods and 48mm bearings.
There is a 2.5l crank built in, but I need to make a 75mm stroke instead of the existing 79mm hub!
Does anyone know which crank I can use in this block with the 48mm bearings?
Or maybe someone even has got a crank for my needs?
So I think what I need is a 75mm phase I crank with 48mm bearingsdimension!
Let me know any help you can offer, please!

I *think* you need a phase 1 2.2L crank... I know for sure phase 1 cranks are 48mm journals, but it's the stroke I'm unsure of. I don't remember if 2.2L was 75 or 79.

why are you trying to keep it at 48mm? I'm guessing because of the rods?...
anyhow, the rods will now be too short to use if going to the shorter stroke.
you can have a crank turned and have the rod journals taken down to 48mm for fairly cheap if you do want to do it.

The 48mm bearings are with the 2.5 SOHC crank I have in the engine and I need to get 75mm hub, as I want to lower compression!
My mechnic told me that the 4mm less with the crankbearings are no good...
I´m not sure about the strength of it afterwards.
We have got a 2.2l crank from a Legacy turbo and it has got 52mm bearings, I´m unsure about the year but I think it is not from an earlier Legacy and from a turbo as well, so maybe the 2.2l crank of a SOHC early Legacy will work?
Many many thanks for your answers!!!

any 75mm crank will work. Just make sure that you are putting a phase 1 crank into a phase 1 block, as it sounds like that is what you are doing.

Sorry dude, there is no 75mm crank that comes with 48mm rod journals.
Make yourself a set of pistons that will give you the propper compression ratio while using the 79mm crank, you will like it better ;)

Maybe there are shorter rods with 52mm bearings?!?

A custom set of low compression pistons cost less than a custom set of rods,
and a shorter rod is not ideal in our Subaru motors.

I have shorter rods in the engine at the moment, that´s why I want to keep them the same length, as I need to for purpose of compression...
I do not know which pistons I could use to come to the lower compression, as there are aftermarket Wiseco pistons already in the engine! :(

hold on a second. i thought all ej18,20,22 had 75mm cranks with 48mm crank journals and 48mm rod journals. i thought the 52mm bearings were for the phase 2 ej25.

All EJ engines, except Phase 1 EJ25, have 52mm rod journals.
Only Phase 1 EJ25s have the 48mm journals.

Thanks for the answers!
It seems as we go with the stock length rods and 52mm bearings and thicker headgaskets!
