Just wanted to post this in case there was some i-club members that we missed. The meet is going to be on Sunday the 27th of January at 1pm. We will all meet at the North East Corner of the Sears mall. For all those that don't understand, that is the side closest to Fred Meyer. Then, we'll regroup at Kris' favorite restaurant Dimond Red Robin for lunch. I will send out a similar email reminding everyone. I will also attach the most current Alaskan Scooby Registry. I hope that everyone will be able to make it because I think this will be the largest turn out yet. Winslow

No, it's a 1990 Nissan 240sx. When I say beat up, I mean beat up. It's a project car I have yet to do much work on.

AK_WRX - Mark at TurboXS finally returned my call. The merchandise is on its way two day air via UPS. Hopefully, Saturday.

Just to let everyone know, I just ordered a few items from TurboXS. 1 - Type-H BOV, 1 - Type-H RFL BOV, adapters and 1 - HP MBC.

Thta is what I thought. Well I'l call you with the price and let you know the damage. The Defi-Link gauges are expensive. I think the Omori gauges are just as good and they are in Imperial units. I hate doing calculations while driving.

at the meet, is it ok if i bring a video camera and a regular camera to take some pictures?

I bought a 2002 WRX Wagon for my girfriend this fall which she has had a very difficult time getting to drive it living in the same house with me. My car is a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT that she has been stuck driving for the most part. I cannot help it is a ball to drive. We will get her something new this next fall. Anyway that is my story and I am glad I am getting to meet all you guys it has been fun so far. The Scooby went into the shop today to get fixed. For those of you that do not know I got ran off the road 1 month and 2 days in and ended up putting the scooby in the bank to avoid getting broadsided in the left front wheel well. It was only right front damage to the bumper and the fender, so luckily we should have no long term performance issues. Anyway to make a long story short, I will be there on the 27th at 1:00, but I may not have the Scooby. It may be in the shop still or curing for a week in the garage which is suppose to be the best thing I can do for it.

Anyway see you all there and I am not sure if my girfriend is going to be coming or not.

Tell them to hurry it up with the car!! I know what you are talking about the "I don't want to drive my own car syndrome since my girlfriend's is better." I had to do that for almost a year because I had this worn out 91 Prelude and my girlfriend has a 2000 Impreza RS. I basically put all my money on mods for her car and left my car alone. My car was just basically a drive to work only. Now I got a WRX and all my money is going into it......muhahhaha! She's buggin me about painting her sideskirts on her RS though. Ahl think bout it.....:cool:

Probably around 7-11 days. (depending on conditions & speed) :D

Took around 12 from St. Louis driving casually.

And it took about 9 days from Socorro, New Mexico (you'll need a maginifying glass to find it on the map) with a two-day stop in Washington.

Of course, we drove about 16 hours a day.

Take a flight and I'll loan you a gremlin or an 1980 beat up Subie.
The subie only runs for 1 minute then shuts down. It'll take you 2 hours to get to the meet.

Dude you have a Gremlin? That is so cool. My brother has a '76 Gremlin that is yellow like the WRX's. Damn 9+ days I would have had to leave today to even consider making it. Oh well I guess I'll have to make it to a differnt one.

There should be one for sure and possibly another. SirWally might bring Kris' old ride. We have to stop referring to SirWally's car as Kris' car. I mean SirWally will be bringing is GC8.

I have driven from Vermont to Anchorage in 4 days before that comes out to about 90 miles per hour and 3 hours sleep per night and it was about 4 hours short of four days.

Winslow, why was your car in the shop for a month?

I am a nice boyfriend for buying her that beautiful silver wagon but it drives me nuts. All she really needed was like a Geo Metro or something since she likes to lug the engine and drive the poor car at less than 2000 rpms all the time. The car has so much more potential than that. It breaks my heart.

I forgat to mention (and subtract from estimated time) the fact that we stayed 3 days in Seattle.

A couple weeks after I bought my car it got keyed on the passenger side door. Two weeks later an uninsured driver slid into my driver's side door.

Yup, Alaskan Scooby Meet this Sunday, January 27th, 2002. It will start at 1pm at the Sears Parking lot across from Fred Meyers. We have soft reservations for 2pm at the Dimond Red Robin. They said they will try and accomodate 25 people but didn't give me a guarantee. If anything I'll call again on Sunday to remind them that the Corporation will be coming and to make room in the parking lot. Winslow

Maybe someone should go early and put cones or something up to make sure no one parks in our spots! Maybe some cones inside the restaurant would not be a bad idea either! :lol:

i found it odd that i had the only black wrx there! :rolleyes: yukon1's yellow wrx was nice, but i would have liked to see the nitros set up that he had...all in all it was nice to see other cars and meet the other owners!

I found that odd, too. I know there are more black WRXs out there. We just need to find them. It seems that I always find blue and silver WRXs. Winslow

we brought in 85 cars back in October.... we're aiming for 100 in March

my guess would be around 20, give or take one! and think that's pretty good for alaska! but i think there are more out there just waiting to be discovered and recruited! :lol: as soon as the weather gets nicer, i bet the number of subies that show up to the meets will grow! if the weather is nice they will come! :lol:
