ok hey guys, i recently had my stereo robbed from my 04 sti, and while they were stealing my deck, the lovely gentleman decided to cut all the wires that were connected to my HVAC harness as well

Ok no problem, ill re-connect them

So i match color to color (i guessed on a couple that were same color), had it mostly right, couple other things didnt work, switched a couple bam, everything works great (HVAC wise)

Now, i go to leave my house

1. speedometer doesnt work
2. car wont rev past 5k rpm
3. CEL + flashing cruise
4. Radiator fans always on

any help would be amazing, my guess is the speedo is causing the CEL, i just dont see why this stuff would be caused by the HVAC

now before i reconnected the hvac wires, the speedo fans etc all functioned normally for a few weeks

Are the two green plugs under the driver side dash connected together? If so unplug them.

......

for instance on the fan blower wires on the small connector there were 2 wires the same color, i had them hooked up backwards, switched them around and now the blower works, same went for the HVAC lights

there was only 3 colors that could have been like that, the other 22 wires were individually matched

anyway moving forward to solving my problem

does anyone have a pinout of the back of an 04 sti hvac?

sounds like you crossed the wires for the a/c select... Thats why the fans are on all the time... And its throwing a CEL because of it, and putting the car into limp mode...

Not sure on the speedo though...
