I have been getting mixed signals on this subject.

After you have a car painted how long do you need to let the paint cure. I have been told that in a heated garage 1 week is enough but then I should not put any wax or anything on it for 6 to 8 weeks. Should it really be staying in the garage for 6 to 8 weeks or is that one week enough. What is the best way to wash it off, because it will get dirty from the shop to the house. I want the paint to stay in good condition.

Some people say to drive the car but park it in a warm garage every night for a while.

Others have said leave it in the garage for a week wax it then drive it.

If anyone has any input on the best process for this I would love to hear it.

Well generally a good body shop will bake the paint onto the part after it has been painted to speed up the curing process...

They say do not wax the new painted area even after baking for about 3 months. As it will seal in the vapor that is evaporating and cause the paint to bubble. Best place to ask would be the shop where you get it done as they would know their process.
