Of course to support this cars potential power, we need fuel. I used our high flow fuel rails (http://perrinperformance.com/products/show/292?nasioc) and modified fuel injectors. (http://perrinperformance.com/products/show/224?nasioc) We have had great success with our simple and very effective way to increase the size of the injectors. The 2006 WRX+ injectors are top feed style that (in stock form) flow 540CC/min of fuel. Our PERRIN Performance (http://www.perrinperformance.com) modified injectors (http://perrinperformance.com/products/show/224?nasioc) flow over 800cc/min. We have hear people assert that these injectors have a bad spray pattern, and cause poor fuel economy. This is just not the case. I have found that people who say this are people who have never used them.
With the intake manifold removed, and rails installed, it was time to install the fuel pump. I changed out the stock fuel pump for a good old Walbro fuel pump (http://perrinperformance.com/products/show/57?nasioc). I did not test it but I assume the OEM pump would probably not flow enough fuel to make anywhere near 400WHP. Should only take an hour, right?
In a prior post I mentioned that Subaru moved the tank under the rear sear. Take note that, before you install a fuel pump, make sure that you didn’t just fill up the night before. This is messy!

Ironically I have never done an install of a fuel pump on a legacy GT, but how hard could it be??

Well this install would have worked out fine If I hadn’t broken off the nipple from the output fitting, while installing the o-ring adapter from the OEM pump. This was of course the only pump we had so we would be putting the OEM fuel pump to the test! Could it do 400WHP??
