i building my motor with all fordge but i am keeping my stock turbo for now but i dont know alot of people keeping a stock turbo with a built motor.so how much boost can i really push with good performance but not blowing it up??:huh:

I have seen td04's push upwards of 21lbs of boost.... but at this level its blowing really hot air.

I probably wouldn't go higher than 19 or so myself....

I'm still looking to see a 300whp td04 ReX....

id run 17 psi, meth and alot of ignition timing :)

your not going to make any more power unless you did some headwork

forged internals wouldnt be what is holding back anyone with a stock turbo setup.

if you want to get the best resutls focus on intercooling, tuning on race gas or with meth/water injection.

On pump gas with my stock ej205, i was ran 17-18psi peak boost and tapered to 12-13psi at redline.. i ran tons of advance up top with a lean mid 11 a/f ratio and it worked very well. Others have had good results adding a helper spring to the wastegate on the outside and focused more on retaining some boost up top, running less ignition advance.

I would take a look at those few peeps that have broken into the 12s and see what they are using. I was only able to go 13.1@105mph with mine.. on pump gas though its was pretty decent.

Do alot of logging and see when your MAF voltage pegs out, if you are getting 4.3v at 17psi at 5,500rpms with teh stock turbo, and then you raise the boost to 20psi and are still only getting 4.3volts on the same night that would be a good indicator that you didn't gain anything by raising the boost pressure.. or maybe you will find you did gain. Or maybe you'll find that you can only get a higher MAF voltage early in the midrange by running very high boost?

okay thanks for all the advise everyone like i ran 19psi when i had stock internals and nothing done to the head and it ran pretty good but i was taking a big risk as we know,right now i am getting my heads milled, the walls clean up,and it is being bored out dont know to what yet i need to talk to my buddy about it.

some of my buddies said i could run maybe 20 if my turbo can handle it.when i ran 20psi on the stock motor it would spike right when it hits.well when i find out the AMF and the other states i will post it back up and see if thats a good idea. thanks again

oh yea and i am deff. looking into the cooling of the motor and the meth in jection and i do run a front mount so that helps alot.
