Hey guy's i was only wondering if all of you with thoses big turbo's (18g and up) have modded the internals of the engine of any kind?, how long you have had the setup and how you drive on a daily bassis

thanx

Most (if not all) will tell you the internals are fine with those turbos. Some will tell you to upgrade the transmission before the engine internals.

Of course engine life is decreased, but by how much is completely unknown and depends on factors other than the choice of turbo.

this is 1/2 and 1/2 with most rexs. I am goin with a 20g or to green down the road. I won't be be upgrding the internals until I would be around 365whp and tq. Most will tell u that stock block and internals can handle about 400whp, and of corse isn't cheap either.

With no met or race gas you should be under 400whp...

ahhh yes...also a tranny upgrade...not smart to be pushing 325whp and wtq on stock tranny...unless you drive it really soft and nice....

For now PPG or STI 6speed swap are only solutions....RA suck.

For me I am goin with PPGs...about 5600, then minus 700-800 for my stock tranny being sold...so about a decent 47-4800 bucks.

i'm well aware abbout the transmission issue my rex is not stock, and neither is the tranny, that was not my question

Perhaps you should post a mod list then.

The factory internals are damn near indesctructable. I've been running an 18g with supporting mods for a couple months now (driven pretty hard) and haven't had any problems. I've seen people getting into the 11's on stock internals. As far as the drivetrain goes, all i've replaced is the clutch. STi tranny swap is in the near future but so far my stock tranny has been fine putting down just over 300 whp.

FPGreen Setup with race gas at 26lbs putting down 410awhp and still running fine with 10k miles later after my tune, driven hard every weekend too!

Yeah, I guess I guess should've made it clear that I wasn't being literal.

why is this even an issue, did you even read my initial thread before posting, were in that question do I even ask one question related to MY car?

 You're being too vague. I responded to your initial question in the first reply to this thread. If you don't care about your car in this question, don't respond that your car isn't stock as if it matters. That leads to posts that have to take other things into consideration, and you apparently don't want that. Your question was answered.
