View Full Version : Daisy Chain method for grounding...

I am still doing my reseach for getting a ground kit. I spoke with a good friend of mine who is educated about electronics, (He builds circuit boards and writes programs for military fighter jets or something like that), about grounding my car and the best way to do so. He said that the "Daisy Chain" method of grounding is not the most efficient way to ground the vehicle and that having an individual wire that goes from the battery terminal to the desired ground point is the most efficient way to ground. He also mentioned that despite the "daisy chain" method of grounding not being as efficient, he is not sure if it would really make that much of a difference in terms of desired outcome from a ground kit. So I have two questions.

If I get a kit that uses the "Daisy chain" style of grounding, is it really going to be that much less efficient?

Does the HKS 'Circle Earth' ground kit use a Daisy chain method of grounding? (It doesn't look like it does but I could be mistaken)

your friend is right :D wile the daisy chain is not the most efficient, it is more then adequate for our cars. When testing with my car i found no difference between the daisy chain and the single grounds. the main reason i went with the daisy chain is that it looked a bit cleaner to me, and did not use lots of wire running all over the engine bay.

you can try it for yourself too, head to HD and buy a bunch of 10ga wire and some ring terminals and give it a shot :D DIY stuff is fun :D

....make yer own wires....be smart and make the connections using yer head---and NOT the strut top mounting studs
