Hi, I'm looking for a convenient fused 12 volt ignition supply for wiring up my dual stage MBC. Don't worry, I'm going to install it right before my tune and let my tuner set it during my tune. I just want to know a good supply so I can plan for the install. Thanks!

I'm not sure what a MBC is so I don't know how many amps it draws... that aside, you could tap off the positive lead behind the cigarette lighter. Another option is to get a fuse tap that turns one fuse into two fuses. They run about $7 or so at auto parts stores and are really easy to install. You just take out a fuse from the panel, plug the thing in, and you have a free positive lead hanging there for the new device

Thanks Dan. Yeah a MBC is a manual boost controller. I have a dual stage and it runs off 12V. The instrustions told me wiring it to a fused ignition supply was mandatory.

yea, either wiring method should be fine. I know the cigarette lighter in my 03 is wired with the ignition, so I'm assuming it's the same for an 04 also... only thing to look for if you do the fuse tap in the fuse box is to find a circuit that goes on and off with the car.

There is a 15Amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box called "Clock - Room". Would this be a good one to use with a fuse tap for the MBC? I'm pretty sure that this is a fused ignition source because the clock only turns on with the key, right?

Test probes are very cheap.

Yeah, you are right. I actually have a probe already. I'll go out and test it.
I should have been more specific, though. My question was more along the lines of "Is it OK to tap into this circuit with an additional (albeit small) load? What stuff besides the clock runs through this fuse? I'm not sure what "room" means...
