View Full Version : HELP! just got HIDs for xmas 25rsti 12-24-2007, 03:40 PM i just got these 8k HIDs, plugged it in, but no play:diaf: can anyone help me? sc00byr3x 12-24-2007, 03:50 PM Make sure your connections to the battery are solid. Ground connections should be on unpainted body ground connections or the battery negative. Make sure your plugs to your factory harness is done right. I hear some subarus, you need to switch the wires (ground and hot for the harness). Do one side and one ballast at a time. 25rsti 12-24-2007, 04:02 PM according to what i have for the HID setup, ive plugged everything in and there is nothing to wire towards to battery???? Mulder 12-24-2007, 04:17 PM Guess Santa didn't read the HID FAQ- http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=664361 25rsti 12-24-2007, 04:18 PM oh i did. just still confused...what am i missing? sc00byr3x 12-24-2007, 04:37 PM there should be about 3 grounds. one for each ballast and one for the main harness. From what I've seen at least. ratboi 12-24-2007, 05:42 PM i had the samne problem with my 05 wrx, i just switched the (+) and (-) on the bulb and it worked...if that makes any sense. 25rsti 12-24-2007, 05:45 PM i switched the positive and negative and it works.....but as soon as i started to put stuff away my driverside light went out! i tightened everything, made sure it was good conections and i seemed to get it to work again...then it went out again....any ideas sc00byr3x 12-25-2007, 03:38 PM somethings loose in your wiring. retighten everything on the drivers side. I bet you its a ground! I just ordered an HID kit myself as well. Waiting impatiently for it to arrive. :) 25rsti 12-29-2007, 12:25 PM when u get urs let me know how it goes EJ25Rollin 12-29-2007, 03:26 PM Who makes your HID kit? I would suggest making sure that the grounds a very clean and make a good contact. I prefer an OEM ballast and lower temp bulbs, but bult temp has nothing to do with your problem. Just make sure your ground and hot wire are connected well |
