I picked up a used alternator. He said it was an sti one. Any specific identifiers on the label that I can see that will show whether it is an sti unit

Thanks

I wasn't aware of any differences between the STi and the standard impreza alternator but, I could be wrong.

The wrx is I think 70 amps while the sti I've read puts out 90 amps

Actually on the cars101 website. He lists the WRX as 75 amps and the STi as 90amps I've searched around and many threads say the same. Specs (http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/wrxsti2005.html#mechanical)
