Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum but had my Impreza RS since 2000. The other day i noticed while I was driving in the highway thaty the little red car door open light was on (The one in the dash).I checked all the doors and the doors were all closed correctly. When i got to the mall, I wne tot unlock my doors, it was like the door locks were not working and I had to open the lock manually. I paid no attention to it. When i came back to leave, I tried to start my car, and my car didn't even crank. I started checking all the fuses and saw the Door Lock Fuse was blown out. I replaced it and it started. I got home, same thing happend. WHAT CAN IT BE!! PLEASE HELP!!

Have you contacted your dealer? Sounds like warranty work to me. Sorry I don't have the DIY answer.

Do you think it can be something with the alarm or something? It has the factory alarm on it. Where do you think the short may be located? Dash? Engine?

If you had anything electrical/electronic installed, you need to retrace the installation, that where I would start.
If you haven't done anything take it in for warranty repair.

What they did was I don't know if you guys have seen it before, the Hood Windsheild Washer LED lights. They connected them to the right corner light. I disconnected the lights but didn't see anything. Would you happen to know if it might be a spliced wire misplaced? I checked the alarm and it's not the alarm. Can it be a wire making contact with another wire or ground? I took off the wire that led from the washers to the light. It still does it. I don't know what to do... I'm going CRAZY!!!
Check your interior light switch above your head. With my alarm, the light comes on if this switch is left in the "OFF" position. I just leave mine in the "When the door is open" position.

Ok, well when i leave it in the "When the Doors Open" position, even if all the doors are closed, the light stays on.. Even when i turn on the car and everything it stays on... Another thing, It blows the Dorr Lock fuse.
Is she gonna be alright?

Maybe a defective alarm unit? I've heard of them replacing them before, so it just might be the problem...

No, it's not the Alarm Unit because I disconnected it and all and it still was doing it.

disconnect as in taking the whole thing out? it won't help diagnose if you just cut the power to it. wires are still there.

Dude, you have a serious problem! If the light is on, that means a honda boy is eyin' your spoiler to throw it on his Type-R so he has a Type-RS. Your car is warning you about the possibility of this, and you should listen http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif
On a serious note:
It happened in my friends Forester...she just put a piece of tape over it. Good luck,
Kevin
