txl146 01-04-2008, 09:09 PM Need some input from you guys. If you need to see additional parameters, let me know. KCA dip occurs right around 5500rpm. FLKC = 0 throughout the pull and IAT of 37-39F.

crazymikie 01-04-2008, 09:19 PM yup- you want to do something about the KC drop- it looks like you are running on 93 octane? it's hard to say without wideband readings, but you timing curve looks pretty reasonable. i'd guess you can try richening it up a little bit and see what happens.

txl146 01-04-2008, 10:58 PM It's quite possible that it's a bad winter gas.
Since detonation can be also caused by high AFR, I will try replacing K&N panel filter with a conventional paper filter and tackle fuel filter at the same time (if tank of gas from diff. gas station again causes knock).
Any other suggestion to address this knock?
mickeyd2005 01-04-2008, 11:41 PM Drive around a bit more on the freeway (cruising etc...) and then check AFR Learning A, B, C, and D.
Then put your stock filter in and drive around on the freeway (cruising, etc...) and check AFR Learning A, B, C, and D.
txl146 01-05-2008, 12:04 AM Correction: this log was done using K&N SRI not paper filter as originally thought.
In comparison, here is the ecuExplore data log from 12/07 I just found from my computer (K&N typhoon SRI).

Your previous log was already hitting the 300 g/s limit so the ecu doesn't know that you are taking in more than 300 g/s air.
It looks like your previous log IAT was 11-13 celsius.
Your current IAT is around 2-3 celsius. That means you're probably pulling in even more air than before but your ecu is still capped at 300 g/s.
If you decide to multiply everything by 1/2 or 2/3 or 3/4 to get around the 300 g/s limit, make sure that you rescale ALL your tables that reference load.

what kind of intake are you running? maybe the intake cal is off a bit. 300 g/sec on a vf34 seems like a lot.
txl146 01-05-2008, 12:45 PM Stupid me. That ECUexplorer log was done using K&N typhoon which I ended up selling sometime after that log.
Today, plan is to repeat the log again way it is since temperature is much warmer than last night.

mickeyd2005 01-05-2008, 05:03 PM BTW, I didn't intend for you to datalog AFR Learning A, B, C, and D. You can just check it when you're stopped. Just write it down. Also, it won't stabilize until you've driven for a while.
I think your problem is related to the 300 g/s limit.

Here is the most recent data log after switching to paper filter and replacing fuel filter (and cleaning of MAF). Also tried spraying with car. cleaner to identify any leak. Everything seems just fine.

One thing I have not data log was airmass flow with a new paper filter. I will try later this evening.

4 gallons of 93 octane gas has been added prior to this run from a diff. gas station.

Hi Chris,
Engine oil from Mobil 1 to German castrol and BPM turbo inlet. Nothing else has been touched.
VF34 turbo - untouched
TBE/UP/DP - untouched
Pinks/FP - untouched
STi TMIC - untouched
One step colder plugs - untouched
ChrisSK 01-06-2008, 04:53 PM The turbo inlet may be the culprit, but not entirely.
I reviewed your map a few minutes ago, I sent you a much more refined map. Try that, log it and check back. If you continue to max the g/rev, you will need to come back for a retune.
