So I finally got a log done on my stock 07 WRX TR. I wanted to see how healthy it was before I flashed stage 1. Please keep in mind that this is a 2nd gear pull. I know I'm supposed to be doing 3rd gear pulls, but there isn't much room to do 3rd gear pulls in downtown Chicago and a bit after rush hour in the rain, haha.

If anyone would be kind enough to take a quick peek, the link is here: http://www.box.net/static/flash/box_explorer.swf?widgetHash=0gu8ccb8k4&v=1&cl=0" width="460" height="345" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash.

It looks as I'm hitting a bit of detonation from 48xx to 55xx RPM. So if I were to do something about it before I flash stage 1, I would A) pull tiny bit of timing, B) Add fuel, or C) pull boost(by target WGDC), correct?

I also noticed I'm only hitting 10.8x lbs. of boost. I'm not concerned about this as much as the knock, but still curious. Target boost is about 12 lbs. stock, correct?

I am still learning and will not touch ANYTHING until I know what I'm doing. Thanks in advance.

The stock map is terrible. Personally, I'd take one of the free stage 1 maps from the OSecu forums, and tune from that.

You need to log feedback correction to check for knock. The timing pulled is learned timing, which means you knocked in that range sometime in the past, and the car learned to pull timing.

IIRC the stock target boost for the 2.5L WRX is ~11.6. Doubtful that you'll hit that in second gear, so your logged values appear to be in range.

When you feel like you know what you're doing, venture over to the OSecu forums and try out Gabedude's 06-07 WRX stage 1 map.

Yeah, I have been reading up on his map revision notes for a while. I guess I'll just flash it tonight so i can spend the weekend logging. Thanks for your help and input.
