Hey guys, I'm in the process of getting my stuff together after a horrible end in 2007.
I spun a bearing and now I quietly wait for the build to complete. Prior to that, about 2 weeks before I spun the bearing, my transmission went, and I swapped to a 6spd 06 sti and added the Spiider DCCD Controller. (Can't wait to see the difference)

My car is currently resting at Precision Tuning, btw It is the only place I take my car for wrenching. Rich, Justin, Cleo, Adam and the rest of the team are taking care of it as we speak.

We decided to go with the following:

I used to drive w/ a TD05H 20G ported and polished by Jerry@ Deadbolt Enterprise. Took a different turn this time and went w/ Blouch.
Dominator 3.0R (Known as GT3076R w/ 8cm2)
JE Pistons
Factory STI rods and bearings
Factory STI Head Gaskets
ARP head studs
New waterpump
New tensioner
Non stretch PE timing belt
Manley 1mm oversized valves
Manley Springs and retainers
Cosworth oil pump
Cosworth Cams
Perrin EL Headers

Going on a hybrid set up. I'm using my wrx heads for this project.
It was inspected and everything turned out great. No cracks.
I believe we are waiting for head to be returned (Slight port & polish).

PE 800 Injectors were sent out to get cleaned, checked and flow matched.
Walbro FP
Perrin FMIC
TIAL 44MM EWG
TIAL BOV (Wish if I can go back to recirculated) If not I'll go w/ perrin blow-through set up
New Coil Packs.
Step Colder plugs.
I think I might need a bigger MAF.
Also I added a new toy to my set up. The aquamist HFS, and we'll be running a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and methanol.

I'm dying to get my car back. I really don't know what to expect from this new set up.
I'll keep you guys updated. Wish me luck, and THANK YOU RICH AND NICOLE for being very supportive.
Thanks for being there Chris, my beautiful lady, parents and friends.

Sounds like a nice setup. I'm sure you'll be pleased with it :)

The money spent so far on this project has really put a big hole in my wallet. I can't afford to spend anymore.
I thought about the GT35R and go rotated, but I can't spend any more money on parts and labor. Ill keep you guys posted.

I stopped by the shop today. Seems that there are some delays. I don't know how much longer I can wait. Let's keep our finger crossed.
I'm just dying to drive my car again.

Rich is trying his best to get everything together. He'll contact everyone that is involved on my project and figure and estimated time.

Are you using the Spec C tank for your HFS-5?
What made you decide to go 50/50 vs 100% meth?

Hey Tyler,
I'm waiting for the spec C tank.
All my decisions were made though the opinions and personal experiences. As you already know, the staff at Precision all have simillar set up. I'll have to talk to my tuner, to find out exactly what he would prefer.
Also, I would like to take the advantages of "cooling and octane booster". We'll see.

Well pure meth will provide better cooling and more octane boost... I think part or the advantage to running the 50/50 mix though is due to the wide availability and fairly low price... most generic windshield washer fluid is a meth/water mix already and a lot of people just run that (making it cheap and easy to refill the tank). Perhaps that was part of the decision...

Honestly this questions is highly debated and with a good 10 seconds of searching will yield more results than you can handle.

If you use 100% meth your tune becomes more dependent on injection as an octane booster rather than a intake temp reducer. Meaning if your kit were to fail at WOT, the possibility for engine failure due to octane deficiency would be increased. 100% meth is highly flamable.

I choose 50% because there are greater cooling properties of water. Since I decided to tune with a TMIC, I wanted all the intake temp reducing I could get. I also liked the idea that the liquid I'm storing in my trunk cannot catch fire. Not to mention the reduced price of running 50% water. It has been stated that running higher concentrations on meth on a long term, can lead to premature wear and deterioration to plastics and rubber.
Please read this.
I'm not trying to create an argument.

I think depends on the location you live too! (Weather related issues). Some tuners experienced better results running 100% meth, some got better results using 50/50. I'll have to speak to my tuner to see what he prefers tuning with.

Also you may find additional posts regarding this quote.

Yeah, water has a higher heat capacity... for some reason I was thinking the rapid vaporization of meth would result in more rapid (and thus effective) charge cooling. I'm going to try to find some more info on the topic with actual charge temps...

alright, just sorted out the issue... We're both kind of right. meth will typically result in lower intake temps and more efficient charge cooling (due to the low latent heat of vaporization thus allowing it to rapidly absorb energy from the intake charge. However the 50/50 mix allows the water to slowly cool the intake charge and some remaining water droplets actually cool the combustion chamber/piston tops. I'd kind of left that end of the cooling process out in my assessment. The water added into the mix kind of serves the same function as oil squirters

New updates:
The head came back from the shop. Waiting on re-assembly. I'll post addtional info as I get updated. Hopefully the car will be done next week or so~ Wee
Injectors came back cleaned, but tittle stated "use at own risk". I don't want to risk anything, so I ordered new PE 850 injectors.

sounds awesome man, lemme know when you start it up! Actually, let me know when you get tuned (whos tunin?) I might go to hang out/ watch.

Cool T, most likely John will be tuning it for me.
