So I am putting a JDM 99 EJ25D (I believe its teh one out of the legacy, but not sure as I got it from a Japanese importer) into a 96 Impreza L AWD. Anyway, I was wondering whether anyone makes adapters for the wiring harness so that i can just plug things in, or whether wires actually need to be spliced. If they need to be spliced wiring diagrams would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Read around some more. The info you need has been posted many times. I'll tell you now that you don't need any adapters. Pull the harness off the new motor and the old motor and put the old haness on the new motor. Use as many sensors and components from the old motor and go to town. FWIW...the 98RS uses the same ECU plug as the 96....so find an ECU and plug it in to run the motor. If the car was a EJ18, you will have to run a wire to the knock sensor and put the appropriate pin into the ECU harness. The PN for the pins are available by searching here in the conversions or electrical subforums....or do as I did and find a hacked up ECU harness and remove what you need. If the car had an EJ22....you will already have the knock sensor wire in the right spot.

Thanks for the help. I switched teh wiring harness from the ej22 to the ej25 and she runs now. =D
One question though, when I switched the wiring harness, the one from the old engine has a little blue connector that i cant find a mate for on the new engine. I searched and couldnt find anything specifically on this. Has anyone who has done this swap before had this same issue?
Thanks
