A question for those of you that have hooked up Turbo,Oil pressure guages, etc. I installed a turbo guage and and oil pressure guage, I thought the install went great, but after about 5 minutes I blew the clock fuse. I hooked up both guages to the 12V and ground wires that were already there for the clock. Is it too much for those wires?, should I have run wires to the fuse box?
If so which fuse should I piggback?
Where do I run the grounds?
Thanks for the help with this

I would suggest running your ground back to bare metal (like the brace below the steering column) and tapping power off the lighter socket- I've never had a problem with my gauges- the lighter socket circuit is probably expecting a higher current that what the clock is on... the clock is expecting nothing but the clock on it, whereas the lighter socket expects at least some draw.

I made a mistake kinda like that. I hardwired my radar jammer control unit to the clock. There are 4 wires. 3 positives and one negative. All 3 positives are 12v of course. I made the mistake because one of the positive wires turned hot when you switch the lights on. And I didnt test that wire. Make sure you arnt making the same mistake :) I believe the yellow wire on the end is the positive that turns on when you start the car. One wire is hot all the time and its on the opposite end. Heres how it works
1: Hot all the time
2: Ground
3: Hot when lights are on
4: Yellow Wire: Hot when you start the car
Im not 100% positive on this but do some testing with a test light to make sure. I do know for sure that 3 wires are hot.

Thermite: You are correct. In order from the left are:
1) 12v constant
2) Ground
3) Lights
4) Ignition 12V
I just did a GReddy Boost and EGT install today. The boost is working fine but the EGT isn't registering any temp changes. It is 'stuck' at the lowest reading. I would think normal driving would get a reading above 300 C...correct me if I am wrong.
The EGT gauge lights up like it should but no readings...what is a guy to do?!
I will do some more QC voltage checking but I don't really know what to think. Oh I ran both gauges off the clock wiring.

Thanks for the help guys, I will try rewirring it.
By the way, the gauges are Omori, and they are sweet.
Now I am just waiting on the pod.
Thanks again
Paul
It's possible the gauge is just broken. I've got a Greddy boost gauge that is sorta broken, in that it takes a few psi to unstick itself when I first turn the car on. It's fine after that but still kind of annoying. I was just planning on tapping off the clock harness for the 3 gauges, I can't imagine the draw of them being all that high.

I would assume its a 15amp fuse. Although I dont think it could hurt to upgrade that fuse to say a 20. Might keep it from being blown. Or like I said its wired wrong.
