Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could point me to the direction for step-by- step instructions (with pictures) for installing this boost controller. Usually, I would get the local mechanic to install any upgrades that I want installed, and I usually get a quote before the job. This time however, I was told that it purely depends on how complicated the install is. As a result, I have been thinking about possibly trying to install it myself.

I have been hearing something about needing a harness or similar to install the EBC. Is this true? Would this be a foolish task for me to try to undertake without an 'expert'?

If someone here has installed the boost controller and can talk an amateur through the process, it would be greatly appreciated.
The boost controller should be arriving in a couple of days, so I would like to get it installed asap.

I have tried doing a search, but have not been able to find the info that I need. Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Things to note: the fittings on the wastegate and inlet are smaller than the hose that comes with the kit. I resolved it by getting a short length of, I think, 3/16" hose cut into 2 pieces and (2) 1/4-3/16" barbed adapters. Couple of inches of the small hose on the metal fittings+ adapters w/larger size connecting to the hose from the kit.
You'll also want to get some rubber caps if you don't want to do the bolt-in-the-hose route. I pulled all the stock hoses off intact for an easier return to stock if necessary.

A little creativity was required to fit the main unit where the stock boost solenoid originally was. I took everything there out, including the bracket for the O2/EGT sensor connectors. Put back in the bracket that holds the cover piece on and used a couple of leftover holes for the greddy part and the stock solenoid with the fittings capped-off. Also capped off the fitting on top of the air intake. If you've replaced with a CAI, this part is much easier to do.

Ran the wiring through the grommet on the driver side. Originally ran the hose from the kit through that grommet, as well, but combined with the tubing for my boost gauge and ic sprayer wiring, the grommet wouldn't stay in place. Eventually teed the boost gauge tubing under my dash instead.

The control unit fits nicely/tightly where the ashtray once was. A bit of a pain getting the boost hose/wiring fed through the back. I'd pulled my radio, but I'm not sure that was necessary to get it through. I don't recall where I attached the hot wire; probably at the radio.

Hope this helped more than confused.

I've helped a friend install on eon his WRX. It went smoothly, and it wasn't that hard. If you can route the wires and vacuum hoses through the firewall, then you should be good to go.

First thing you should do is read these directions in the Greddy manual: Greddy Profec B Instructions (http://www.greddy.com/technical/pdf/ProfecB.pdf)

Basically it goes like this (from memory):

1) Mount the solenoid--the big black box thingie with two hose ports. Connect the two boost signal hoses that were previously routed to the stock solenoid. Make sure you read the directions carefully for this one. If you connect them wrong, you could have too much or too little boost. Use the Type 3 setup in the instructions.

2) Tap into the vacuum lines at the FPR to get a boost signal for the Profec (use the 3-way tee) and route that wire into the cabin.

3) Connect the harness to the solenoid and run it into the cabin with the boost signal hose.

4) Find +12V power and ground and connect the electrical harness for the Profec unit. The clock harness is a good place to tap into.

5) Mount the Profec unit. We took out the ashtray in the center console and slid it in there. It fits like it was meant to be there and is inconspicuous. Connect both harnesses and the boost signal line to the back of the unit.

6) Turn it on to check for power and you should be ready to tune.

We tuned it pretty quickly, setting the low boost to 11psi and hi boost to 16psi. The balance was in the middle (12 o'clock position) and we didn't need to move it because boost was stable.

Hope this helps.

Use the Type 3 setup in the instructions.
 There are only 2 = controlling solenoid valve Dual Port Actuator or Single port . Plus Valve Unit Installation for Actuator Type or for External Wastegate Type...
