One thing I have been disapointed with on my '07 sti is the lighting. I love the brightness of my HID's but can easily outdrive them at night. Even with my adjuster set to the highest level they just seem to shine way too short and then have an abrubt cutoff. Is there a way to adjust the headlights so that they will shine higher and thus further out? My friend was able to do this in his evo but doesn't know how in the STI.

Secondly, does anybody have suggestions for fog light bulbs? They are so dim compared to the headlights there really is no use for them. Also since they are not HID they look extremely goofy with the contrasting colors. Is there a bulb for the foglights that would be brighter and whiter?

Thanks!

If your low beams are indeed aimed too low, you can adjust them with the knob at the back. The best function about these light is that fact that you can manually control the height. I have my lights aimed higher than normal at the highest position, so I can use them on back roads when there are no other cars around without resorting to high beams. If you are travelling fast enough to be out driving your low beams, then I suggest using your highs where appropriate.

As for the fogs, they should only be used in incliment weather, to light up lane markers and road edges. If you use the fogs when the roads are clear all you are doing is making your pupils dilate, because the foreground becomes brighter, and you lose on your distance vision.

I have the lights set at the highest setting. They are still far too short. At the lowest setting they litterally are only shining like 5 feet in front of the car. They seriously look like they shine straight into the ground. At the highest setting they are waaaaaay to short for freeway driving and backroads can be downright scary. I do use high beems when appropriate, but every other car I have driven, the lights shine much further out then these do at the highest setting.

Is there a way to manually make them higher? Like I said my friend was able to do that on his evo and it made a world of difference. If I can't then I am going to the stealership to see if they can adjust them. They are very bright, but don't shine far enough for appropriate visability.

Also, are there no other bulbs for the fogs that may be brighter?

yea, i have mine also set so its higher then stock on the high setting. and use one notch below that for normal
just open your hood and look at the headlight, you will see a Phillips screw (looking directly down on the headlight) turn that (cant remember which way) and aim them properly.

Im not sure if I have the logic on this one right, but would it be possible to leave the headlights on the highest setting, unplug them, then adjust the dial to the lowest setting, and plug them back in? Where they then can be adjusted higher without having to adjust the knob on the back of the housing?

hmm, not sure, give it a shot :D just pull the switch out as that would be the easiest :D
