I cannot decide whether or not to drop $100 bucks on a resonator, or to change the exhaust.

Maybe i am a suck, but i need to have a little more quiet on the highway, especially with a youngun about 4 weeks away.

I have a Buschur 3" Catted quiet TBE (but not quiet enough), and have dynamatted and ensolited, added the Kartboy hangers, and all have made marked improvements.

It is just a little too loud for those 1 hour plus drives, and i am sure the kiddie will not like it either. Will any standard 3" axleback fit the buschur midpipe? Has anyone else tried this? I may just try to trade the muffler section, or even swap out the Catback.

I guess what i am asking is will the resonator actually significantly quiet it down? or just change the sound?

a resonator should help to an extent. but i say keep it the way it is until you have your baby in a car seat. you never know, the kid might like the rumble ;)

The drone will more than likely put your child to sleep, if anything. Seriously.

i tried something yesterday. I removed the heat shield above the muffler, bc with the kartboy hangers, the muffler is about 6 inches below it, so I figured it wasnt doing anything but acting as a resonating chamber. Whaddya know, it actually improved the drone. When it gets a little warmer out, i will check the area to see how hot it actually gets.

I had a 3in highflow resonator put on the Midpipe of my Ansa exhaust. Made a huge inprovment in bringing the sound down and the exhaust note sounds better as well!

how much did it cost you in labor to put it in?

In total, parts and labor was 75 bucks. it was put on in less then 15 minutes and looks like it came with the exhaust system. Has been through several crazy storms here in New England and seen a ton of road chemicals and hasn't rusted yet.

What he said. I was worried when my daughter was born about the loud car. She loved it. Still does.
