I'm planning on getting stever's 4-door CF wide-body kit once I get some $$$. How would you go about insuring something like that? $2500 is not pocket change for me and if I got in an accident I don't want to get screwed out of my hard earned money.

It's iffy, but in this case, you should inform your insurance of your mods, you can get insurance up to about $5gs. Or take your chances, if you know a body shop well, when (if) you get into an accident you can get the estimate from them on what it would cost to fix it with stock parts, then pay the difference to get the widebody kit again.

I just called my insurance agent to add coverage for my stereo equipment. I was quoted $65 a year for $2500 coverage. That's full replacement costs. I have AllState insurance. Just call your agent and ask.

Now, if you get hit, the other person has to pay for it anyways, so this is only for damage you would do, or can't identify who did it.

As long as it is PERMANENTLY attached to the car, it should be covered. So bolt that sucker on.

My insurance company was willing to cover the costs of replacing most aftermarket mods done to my car if it was damaged in an accident, but only provided i pay for the parts up front and then i would be later reimbursed for the cost of the parts.

I'm sure most insurance companies are like that

Comprehensive insurance here automatically covers $1000 of stereo and $5000 of aftermarket accessories, including paint.

If only I could get that switched around!!

I insure with AAA, and they cover additional equipment as long as you can provide invoices. I think there is a limit, but you can always up the limit if you want. I know how much them BOMEX Aero kits cost... oh my God they are insane!
