I'm a little confused on one of the posts above....so you can set the mileage? or all that is available is whatever you've got listed?

Millennium Auto
03-19-2008, 11:46 AM
it is an extra $125 to get a mileage set to yours or you can choose the mileages we have
for there prices as stated above

sjs0433
03-19-2008, 12:35 PM
Also does having the mileage set mean a longer wait time or can you do that in house?
also do the 04 wrx's have the same problem as the 02-03 ones when putting in an 05+ sti cluster?

Millennium Auto
03-19-2008, 01:28 PM
yes about a week wait. if we have it reprogramed..
what problem do they have?

sjs0433
03-19-2008, 07:13 PM
i've heard on the 02/03 that the buzzer feature/shift light don't work and that people have had problems blowing fuses often. I know the 04 one works perfect. I think with the later clusters on early years people had to modify the harness clips a little bit.

The miles stay with the cluster.

So is it against the law to change the cluster? You could just buy a new cluster and make it seem like your car only has a lower number of miles?

Changing the miles by itself, AFAIK, is legal. You're supposed to document it. The real problem is when you try to *sell* the car. If you say that it has 93,000 miles but it doesn't, then you can get in trouble.

I just recently found out that cars that are 10 years old are exempt from this - so if you're trying to sell a 1998 car or earlier you can just check the exempt box on the title that says you don't have to disclose the mileage.

Well that is nice. I bet exempting yourself looks bad though. People might wonder why you don't want to tell lol.

ButtDyno
01-24-2009, 12:30 AM
Well, you could make up whatever number you wanted to on a 10 year old car and not have any liability even if you lie. (Again, to the best of my understanding). Good to know if you're the one buying the old car :)

Excellent! In that case, two questions then... First, how much do you want for one?

And secondly, this is for anyone, do we know if these will plug and play with an '08+ non-turbo? I know the cluster itself is the same size, so it'll definitely fit cosmetically, but will the plug fit, and will the gauges all work? That is the question.

Or, how about this... third question... I will gladly be the guinea pig on this one, if you're willing to let me return the cluster should it not work. I will buy one, plug it in, and if it's good, I'll let everyone know that this does, indeed, work. If it does not work, however, what is your return policy?

Could you post a picture of the back of the cluster you have? At the very least, then I'd know if the plug in my car is the same size.

I suppose I could also call Subaru and ask them in the clusters are interchangeable between cars, but I suspect they either won't know and/or won't tell me.
