I am soooooo mad, pissed and upset! Now it'll cost me $200 to fix it and what bothers me most is that there is no guaranty of any kind that tomorrow they will not decide to brake my window to see if there is anything better insode than what was in the trunk.

So, how is that for a nice Monday moring surprise? Why those cars attract so much bad attention? There was an Eclipse parked right next, why me not him? Wjy in hell anyone?

Set up a surveillance camera on a 24 hour loop recording tape.

Now you should have it shaved at a body shop(no key hole)and have it open by remote only.

Have alarm. Hooked up to 2 Hella horns. So what? None payes any attention to those alarms here. It is gona go off for 30 sec and then reset itslef and wait. So, if someone doesnot rocke the car they can sit in it and read "War and Peice" whole day long.

I do. Comes in many sizes. I recommend 12 gauge, or 20 gauge if you want to go small. Move to Vermont, this isn't a problem!

The great thing is: that's a real product. It's called Auto Taser. Basically it's an electrified club. Not sure how it works. I don't know how a real taser works either, so I don't feel so bad about that.

There was an auto security device being marketed in South Africa that shot a mist of some flammable material from under the car and ignited it if someone was trying to break into the car. I had a link of a news story on it a couple years ago, but who knows where it is now.

It was marketed from the aspect that it was primarily to create a bright flash to scare away criminals, but it was doing things like lighting people's legs on fire and there were a couple of lawsuits or something.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

Auto Taser is cool but it only works once the thugs already broke your window and are trying to get insode.

Other Flame Shooter is actually a Kidnapp Protection device and not an Alarm. It is activated by floor button by driver. CRAZIEST thing!!!! I would love to have one just for sake of having it.

Um, let me give you a real tip.

DON'T use the trunk bypass lever!

Believe it or not. I used to do it all the time.

Then someone comes to my car, pounds the living **** out of the passenger door lock cylinder, DESTROYS the floor mounted trunk pop lever in hopes of making it work (nope) then DESTROYS my trunk lock, too.

There was nothing in the trunk. Nothing in the car, either. Not even the factory stereo (I had taken it out.)!!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif

Now I leave it so it works. Less damage is better in my opinion.

I did, however, install an additional dome light switch (OEM Subaru) in my trunk and wired it to the drivers door so now my trunk will sound the alarm if opened. And turns on the interior dome light, albeit useless, it's true! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

I spent the weekend in NYC at my parents' place and I kept my WRX in their garage. I don't know how I would handle it if I had to park on the street day in and day out. I probably wouldn't keep a nice car.

I'll just leave my windows open, and let my pitbull in and out of the car. She so cute when you see her, but you mess around, she'll bite your arm off.
I've seen her turn a 6" trunk of a tree into woodchips in about 5 minutes.
That's freakin vicious power.
BTW my car is in the Garage all the time.

Dude, see that switch in your trunk lock? Flip it. It would suck if you left your key in there though...unless u got a spare w/ you.
