View Full Version : Aussie MY01 WRX Lil Bretto 05-14-2001, 04:46 PM Click here for pics of my new MY01 REX (http://www.athomeit.f2s.com/WRX/index.html) illmatic 05-14-2001, 04:51 PM Looks good. The US MY02 WRX doesn't have the side blinkers. Does the dealer sell them over there? Any chance you could get me a pair if I give you money? jcblack 05-14-2001, 05:01 PM nice. I'm sure the "US version vs others" has been beaten into the ground, but... I noticed the dead pedal, is that standard there? We get nothing. I like the seats too. Tralala 05-14-2001, 06:10 PM whats with the brake dust..... reminds me of Audi A4's rsholland 05-14-2001, 06:11 PM Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe those great looking 17" wheels are standard in the land of Oz? In fact, I believe 17" wheels are standard everywhere other than North America. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif What tires came with the vehicle? Also, it looks like the heating/AC/fan controls are "slightly" different from what we get here too. It's hard to tell from the images, but it looks like the MOMO logo on the steering wheel is different from North American models also. Do you have any additional photos of the seats? Those are different from what we get here too. Bob ANZAC_1915 05-14-2001, 07:37 PM Actually there is a model of the JDM WRX that comes with the "old" MY99 RS 16 x 7 rims but anthracite. Adrian128 05-14-2001, 07:49 PM http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif mate.. you could have at least cleaned the wheels before you took the pics.. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif good on ya http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif Frey Bone 05-14-2001, 10:14 PM I like the brake dust, at least we know he is actually "driving it" insted of ***** -footing around downtown. Congrats and good luck. Joe Adrian128 05-14-2001, 10:33 PM Frey.. over here we get the brake dust even if we are just driving around downtown. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif ashtaron14 05-14-2001, 10:52 PM Look @ the climate control, it's in NUMBERS!! I want I want!! pretz 05-15-2001, 01:29 AM the steering wheel looks much nicer than the crappy NA version Kostamojen 05-15-2001, 02:34 AM Thats odd... The Climate control gauges are different than here... WE WANT THOSE RIMS NOW! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif titsataki 05-15-2001, 08:37 AM outside US/CA they get 17 inchers.. 4 pot brakes semi auto a/c ... I am guessing these will be upgrades next 2-3 years..for the US/CA market. T. 96Lconversion 05-15-2001, 11:15 AM That is gorgeous, I am soooo jealous!! damianq 05-15-2001, 11:33 AM "outside US/CA they get 17 inchers.. 4 pot brakes semi auto a/c ... I am guessing these will be upgrades next 2-3 years..for the US/CA market." titsataki, Sorry, I don't mean to dash your (or anyone else's) dreams but... I have been informed by a Subaru Marketting exec. that there is NO "market demand" here for climate contols like everywhere else. It may appear if the competition does it. 17" wheels is a warranty issue here. Both those feature will NOT appear on Impreza's but may appear on the 2003? turbo Legacy GT-S. OOPS! Did I let the cat out of the bag? How unlike me. She (marketting manager for SOA) refuses to confirm it for me but nodding her head denies any such thing. They may change thier mind so don't quote me on this. I don't want to change this into another tread. Think of it as a rumor... Snowman 05-15-2001, 05:26 PM Is that a MY01 or MY02? Did they get our MY02 body style down there in 2001? Snowman Bad spellers of the world, UNTIE!!! Andy_T 05-15-2001, 06:13 PM Australian, NZ, UK and European markets got what North America calls the "2002" body style in October 2000, not long after Japan (although the models are different of course). Therefore, in each of those locations, the model year would be the "2001" model year (although MY has variable value as a way of describing the value of the car). Lil Bretto 05-15-2001, 06:35 PM yup... MY01 = 2001 model (notice the number plates!) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif - b..
