I recently went Stg 2 on my 07 wrx. I currenty have a Cobb catted DP, SPT CBE, SPT intake. Car runs great. I just have a few questions......

1. Cobb explained to me that the SPT intake was fine at Stage 1. I read on other threads and replies that it was fine to do that. Does anyone know if an SPT intake is alright to use at Stage 2? I have been traveling for work and really have not had the time to give them a call.


2. Driving down the highway at a low RPM when in the fast lane closest to the barrier, i can really hear a "ticking" noise bouncing off the barrier. I am thinking it might be an exhaust leak but didnt think so since I had my local Subaru dealer do all my exhaust work. Or is it common for wrx's to make that noise?

Any input on my concerns is appreciated.

1: yes if it works on stage 1 it'll work on 2

2: yes,wastgate flutter is a common noise (if that's what it is)

I hope you are not running a stage 1 map with the Cobb DP

Sounds like wastegate flutter to me too. I get the same noise as well, especially when it's cold out...and I have the same exhaust system as you have.

Thanks guys. The Subaru dealer in Pittsburgh said the same thing about the wastegate. Is there a way to get rid of the flutter? I also did switch to the Stage 2 map when I upgraded to the Cobb DP so I did not run into any issues. And, how do I adjust the wategate to get a bit more boost? I am about 2-3 psi under the target boost for Stage 2 93oct.

One more item...how do I list next to my member name what mods i have done to my car? I am sure its a dumb question but I cant seem to find where to do it
