Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with AP's stage two map on an 06-07 WRX. Ill give you the history, maybe you all can figure out something I have missed.

Originally I had flashed a stage one map with only a 2.5 inch Borla XR-1. I was getting 16psi, so I called Cobb and they suggested I loosen my Wastegate Actuator Arm. I eventually got it down to about 13-14 psi, which is acceptable under their mapping. It ran fine after that.

I recently put on a catless downpipe and flashed a stage two base map. When I went out and drove it around I noticed that I was only getting 10psi max in fourth gear. So I figured My WGA arm was too loose. So i tightened it back to stock, and I was only getting 12psi. So i continued to tighten it, almost as far as it can go, and I'm only getting 13-14 psi, still nowhere close to the 15.2 (+ or - .7) that I should be getting in fourth. And on top of that, I'm getting boost creep, up to 15psi by redline.

I cant find any leaks, in vacuum or in boost. Doesn't sound like any kind of exhaust leaks.

I figured it just might be a bad map, or maybe I just need to get tuned. So I called Dale and Boxer4Racing.com (I live right next to it), and I am scheduled for a tune on the 24th of March. But I would like to find anyone that has had this problem or any experience that can maybe guide me so I can autocross before the tune and have some peace-of-mind.

Any ideas????

READ the Cobb map notes!

It sees right in there map notes that you MUST run a catted DP with there map or you WILL suffer from low boost and boost creep problems.

I would not risk making boost till it was Protunned. I love my motor and the 2.5 k I have in the bank to much to risk it.

I've read all the map notes and contacted Cobb. They said that i should be experiencing overboosting, not low boost.

It never specifies you must use a Catted system. That would be ridiculous.

From the notes:

Otherwise stock vehicle with a STOCK INTAKE
SYSTEM ONLY, tested with a Cobb Tuning turbo-back exhaust system
with high-flow catalytic converter. An equivalent turbo-back exhaust
system could be used. If the turbo-back exhaust system relieves
back-pressure to an excessive point boost creep is possible. If a
lesser flowing turbo-back exhaust system is used then boost targets
may not be achievable. The addition of any other hardware may make
the vehicle perform poorly.

Yes I understand why I am getting boost creep, ive known that. But why am I getting low boost?

How many miles are on the car?
I have read of people having problems with the stock turbos failiing.

Maybe your turbo is not up to snuff?

There are 21000 miles on my car.

No cracks on any of the housings, everything looked fine when I put the DP on and it ran fine until I flashed the ECU stage 2. If the turbo was failing I would think their would be some smoking issues, but I'm not having any of those. Then again I know it can go without it. But I don't feel that is the case.

check for any exhaust/boost leaks? have you messed with any intercooler piping or the up-pipe of any sort? if so could be bleeding off massive amounts of boost, not causing turbo to hold adequate boost.

i ran stage 2 with a hks catless downpipe and never had that prob i was boosting 16 psi and had to adjust the waste gate arm

are you running the 91 or 93 octane try reflashing to one of the others to see if that it could be the map

I have already stated there are no audible leaks. I have touched nothing with the intercooler or up-pipe, and still have the factory BPV.

I am using the 93 octane map and running 93/94 Octane. I have tried to reflash a realtime map, with no significant change.
