Constant 12 volts: blue/red
Switched 12 volts: yellow/green
Illumination: Purple

Not sure of the dimmer wire.

And as always test wires before connecting anything.

how do i test?? with a voltmeter?? illumination would be the one i want. the one that i can use to dim the gauges as the car dims the lights.
thanks, so this is for an 07 sti right?? or is pretty much standard?

that's for any 07 impreza.

The illumination provides a 12 volt + source when the lights are on. There should be a dimmer wire as well, but I'm not sure the color.

Yes and to test use a multimeter.

The dimmer for Subarus works differently than in other vehicles. The dimmer is in reference to +12V instead of to ground. As a result, you will likely need to invert the dimmer for use in gauges, etc.

Take a look at this thread (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3716610#post3716610).
